Not sure if this has been discussed but I have to ask:
Why hasn't GRRM done the podcast???
-Have you asked? -If so, what was his response?
This is the longest running ASOIAF podcast. I'd think that he'd be all over it. And no offense, he doesn't seem to turn down much. He's doing interviews on YouTube, conventions in Montana, conventions anywhere. He's seems interested in all things that would enable his procrastination.
Help me understand why he hasn't (or won't) do APOIAF???

i'm also not sure. i think they should ask him - maybe they could invite him for an upcoming 100th episode?
but the next best thing would be his assistant Ty. they could talk with him about his books and working with george. and what surprised him most in adwd. combined with elio in an "secretkeeper"episode would be possible.
that would also be awesome.

Yeah I gotta think it would just take a call at this point. Hosts???

Don't spoil his football games though. Now is the time to call before the NFL season starts.

I can just about imagine Mimi saying, "So, you think I'm hot???"
Followed by a long questionaire on House Manwoody naming conventions and feathered hat conspiracy theories.

A man might think that the shocking lack of hosts commenting on this thread, means that maybe something is in the works and it's meant to be a surprise or they dont want to jinx it. Or they haven't seen the thread. Or they just don't feel like commenting. Or perhaps it is indeed a sore subject. Maybe they already had him on the show and forgot to hit record leading to another tragic podcast fail of epic proportions. Maybe he has already been on the podcast as a forum guest host and didn't tell anyone his true identity. God knows with rate Amin was pulling in random guest hosts, this is a real possibility. I'm sure the podcast is working on it.

in a nutshell, unfortunately things aren't as simple as simply asking him and him saying yes.

I've heard he's very prompt to reply to queries delivered by shadowbaby. Plus, I hear they're fun to, you know, make.
A girl only suggests, of course.

Am I the only one who's quite happy that there's a bit of distance between all the official stuff and House Manwoody?
One of the things I like about the show is that it's clear that the hosts love the books to bits, but they're not fawning over every detail. I wouldn't like it to lose that independence to rant and mock the bits that need mocking!

I'd love to have George on. I'm just waiting till football season so I can ruin the outcome of a Jet's game he hasn't watched yet.

Something I miss in almost every interview of him. Only because they might get GRRM on the 'cast that does not mean they will be all "sweet and candy" to him.

I wouldn't like it to lose that independence to rant and mock the bits that need mocking! Well that's the thing, you know? The podcast doesn't take itself too seriously; that's why I fell in love with it a little bit. And you know -- from what I can tell neither does George. I mean, I know everyone SAYS that stuff, but if you read some of, say, the past Con speeches he has on his website, he'll say things like -- and don't quote me, here, this is serious paraphrasing -- "I wish I had the fortitude of all those people that say they don't read bad reviews. I read them all over the place. I get right into it." Or there are the stories of supposedly he had an addiction to... some sort of dice game. What celebrity admits to that (well, Vin Deisel was maybe a serious D&D fan at one point, but besides that)? Or there's the letter he wrote to Marvel way back in the day. Or even, yes, his willingness to just say he thought LOST's last episode was horrible. If there's anything I like about what I hear on the podcast and read about Martin, it's the lack of pretense. It might sound kinda weird, but I find listening to the podcast just plain... relaxing. Martin strikes me as someone who knows the importance of relaxing, and not being so serious about things.
