I tried to comment with some congratz and a sly but persuasive mention of how awesome it'd be if he did a podcast episode, but it got auto-flagged as spam before even going for review/moderation for some reason. Presumably, that means my comment won't be appearing. Not sure why this happened; I've commented on GRRM's livejournal entries a number of times in the past and never had this occur before. Maybe it was because I suggested the effect on the hosts of his guest appearance would be to make their Dickon Manwoody...

Hahah, just saw his comment where he calls you guys "cool".  Anyways, it's seriously annoying how difficult it's been to get him on the podcast (apparently due to HBO legal reasons?), considering he's done about 1,000,000 interviews since the show started.

I can say with 100% certainty that if wasn't for HBO and the timing of the TV series, we would have interviewed George by now. Probably would have happened in 2011 or 2012. That being said, I'm still optimistic that we can do so in the future and I'm working with Mimi on that.

totally unrelated but anyone notice how George spelled "honored"? yeah because that's how you spell it. in amurca we speak and spell english the correct way.

I don't follow. Just took a look and he spelled it, "honored". As Canadian, of course I would have spelled it the *actually* correct way: "honoured". But he's American, so as far as I know, "honored" is correct... for him.
If you're simply criticizing the standard American spelling, you do realize he's been spelling it that way in the books (where, at least for me, it's even more jarring because the medieval Europe-like setting makes me expect the british spelling) for around a couple of decades now, right? I assume you do, so I must have missed something, such as George having possibly gone back in and corrected some kind of a typo since you posted. If that's not it, could I maybe get a hint?
