Shouldn't be the question:

Is it worth the effort? For what does deviantart offer aPoIaF that a "Gallery" Module for its own page can not?

Don't understand me wrong - I understand that Amin wants to push the podcast and therefore uses different pages/communities to extend the visibility of and awareness for the podcast. But is this really needed? I do not mean that against the deviantart-page in particular (that was just my example here), just about the long-term strategy in general.

In terms of long-term strategy, I'm not sure - I know there's a ASOIAF art meme circulating on that site that explicitly mentions APOIAF.

I haven't seen that meme - can you link?

I think it's a good way to collate all our our artwork in a different space to Facebook where different people can see what we are up to. We have established ties with other fandom art groups (though to honest, they're a bit hardcore and I'm a scared to look through their art too much haha).
It was always an experiment though - I don't know if it's worked per say, but I know it's a sight damn easier than, say, updating the website gallery with hundreds of pictures that need bandwidth and formatting.

Question #4: If you haven't listened to A Podcast of Ice and Fire shame on you go listen. If you have draw something from your fave episode.

It is worth it because it promotes the art project and gets us new listeners, in particular, new listeners that that are more likely to help out with the art project. Deviant Art has an established community with a lot of history.
