Ok, late notice I know, but i just got a Feast of Ice and Fire and was planning to film my horribly inept attempt at cooking something from it. In about 6 hours. Any suggestions? Only note is that I'm avoiding meat, because a) it's expensive and b) I don't want to give myself food poisoning because I really really really can't cook.

who am I kidding, I'll probably just do a salad because the ingredients are cheep.

But I want to do something a little more than that, so any suggestions are welcome from those who have the book.

I like this. Also, any of the desert-y type things.

Is there a recipe for eggs with spicy peppers? Just don't drink a lot and then throw them all back up during an important wedding.

Eggs with Spicy Peppers, lean bacon fried crisp, bread, oranges.... that sounds good now...

I was at NY Fries and ordered some yesterday. I still don't get why you don't have it down there- melted cheese curds, gravy, and fries, seems like the type of artery clogging goodness you'd find at mcdonalds.

i've been going through the book more. Why does everything i feel confedant in doing involve Saffron? that shit's so expensive :?

Bowl of brown takes 8 hours in a slow cooker, so if i do that, it won't be anytime soon.

here's Part 1!
It includes playing my music too loud, drinking, adding the wrong ingrediants, and singing

The fear I had for your fingers as you were cutting the onions was intense.

Thought you were going to be Ashley "Half-Hands"....

Is it weird that I can imagine the chopping and grating being turned into a montage to either "Eye of the Tiger" or "You're the Best Around"?

Still much better than my culinary ability. 8-)

Watched both Part I & II.

Thanks for doing this, Ashley. You're awesome. Looks like you had a lot of fun! Also, you are adorable.

PS The pear brandy is something *I* want to do too. There's also the tart persimmon wine... which just... looks amazing.

Was that the Horrorpops I heard playing?

Great job an the pie. Trust me, that was probably better than most of the forum could cook up, myself included. I would have given up and called for take out...
