Loved listening to this one guys.

Had a huge grin on my face when Kyle said he got so into Karstark's acting he sorta forgot who the good guy was. LOL! "King in the North? Screw that guy, fight the power!"

Nilan beat me to it so I deleted my topic...

To quote myself:
Quote:
As always: I'm not finished, but I'll come back with comments.

Only one thingnow: Maybe I'm wrong (because their are some call-ins at the end) but I would find it nice if the crew would be joined by some guests on the season 3 (maybe from the boards). I always find it refreshing if some new viewpoints come in (should not be an offense - the hosts are great and I love you all).

Great work! Loved that you guys loved this episode so much (since it was definitely my favourite) but still made some good points. Can Bryan Cogman just write every episode? Glad I wasn't the only one who thought the babies in jars were creepy ... and that Shireen was the most adorable little girl ever!

Kyle, which episodes in tv history would you consider giving five lemoncakes?

According to Westeros.org "After the execution of Lord Rickard, the Karstark cavalry broke away from the rest of the Northmen and returned to Karhold. Their infantry ended up joining Roose Bolton's force."

Also some Karstark men died at the battle of Duskendale. Harrion Karstark is currently at alive at Maidenpool and maybe some of the survivors of that battle are captive as well.

Isn't Maidenpool Tarly territory? that's not ideal

Great episode! I think that they have been relatively vague with army strengths to keep it simplified for non book viewers.

Re-watched the show because of your episode! It seems that was asleep the first time I watched, because I wasn't that enthusiast about the episode, but when I watched it the second time I really liked it. A good episode for both the show and the podcast.

yeah it is Tarly territory but he is currently in KL. Here is some more info on house karstark after Rickards beheading

"With the death of Lord Rickard, Harrion Karstark became the new Lord of Karhold. With Harrion in Lannister captivity, however, Arnolf Karstark, the castellan of Karhold, declared for Stannis Baratheon in a plot with the Boltons to provoke the Lannisters into executing Harrion and then marry his son Cregar to Rickard's daughter Alys, and then turning against Stannis when his forces reached Winterfell. Arnolf's plot to claim Karhold is foiled when Jon Snow arranges the marriage between Alys Karstark and Sigorn, the Magnar of Thenn, and sends a raven to King Stannis informing him of Arnolf's treachery. Should Harrion die, lordship of Karhold would pass to Alys and the newly founded House Thenn"

The only episode that comes to mind is the Star Trek TNG series finale.

There we go! Also Kyle, not even the third season finale of Lost? Or an episode of the Sopranos?

Great Episode guys.

I don't much care for the Talissa is a spy theory... feels too soap opera-ish, too over the top, as if the Frey-Bolton betrayal isn't enough, we also have to have this betrayal also... Is too much.

I have a pet theory about Talissa. - She will be pregnant and be at the RW but instead of being killed there she is only captured (by Bolton) and then Talisa becomes the Jeyne Pool character. Gets married off to Ramsay. It changes things from the books, but similar motivations can be had for Theon's Redemption. Jon's motivations can also be fitted similarly. I think it still works more or less.

That or she stays at Riverrun with the Blackfish. Blackfish should be staying at Riverrun, someone has to run things there.

I thought the 4th season was even better. "The Constant" was a FANTASTIC Episode, and the Ben Linus-centric episode that came after it was almost as good as well, although I forget what the name was.

But for me the 5th and 6th... not so much. I had a problem getting over how Locke didn't recognize Mr. Whitmore the first time he meets him after Ben Linus explicitly pointed him out in a VHS recording in the previous season... for some reason I just started falling out of love. I'm picky, I guess.

Yeah this was a a good episode though I'd say around 4.25 for me. I'm really hoping that ros gets offed by littlefinger in place of ser dontos during Sansa's escape from kings landing. It would be fitting if littlefinger did it himself as payback for ros becoming a double agent on him. And i think it would be a very popular move for many fans of the show

They wont have Dontos now though...not one non-reader would know who he is...that ship has sailed (no pun intended).

This is now my main wish fulfilment for the show, but it will never happen because they like her too much. I'm assuming they're not doing Joffrey's Wedding until next season, we have plenty of time to start a campaign ...

Show only viewers would feel so bad for her; being powerless and objectified, then gaining influence and clout, and then taking a couple of surprise crossbow bolts for her troubles. On the other hand, most book loyalists and anti-Ros advocates would just laugh and laugh.

Not to get too sidetracked but Lost was a GREAT show. I liked the last episode but,

Spoiler: show
Didn't agree with the ending of them in purgatory. I thought it was going to be a whole alternate universe to replace what they had 'lost' and have better lives. Because the writers claimed that even though they'd died, the island had given them what they needed. But when I thought about it I was like... 'seems to me it took with one hand and gave with the other. What the heck did it give Sayyid? He was going to find the woman he longed for when the plane crashed in season 1, then the entire thing with the Island KILLLED her... how exactly did it heal that guy?'

So, yeah. Thought it would have been better if Desomond had been used as the means for crossing dimensions for everyone to escape to and 'find' everything they'd wanted. Not just a waiting place for heaven.

Actually, I started listening to BoK Ep2 after the advertisement.

God, I'd forgotten how much I HATE ST: Voyager. Like, not as much as Full House, but still, pretty bad.

Is that goatee on the first emoticon in honor of Littlefinger's facial hair?

I was already fully aware of BoK and what it has to offer, but I was intrigued by it's abrupt intrusion into the main show.
