We've got The Geekie Awards coming up on August 18th and I've been asked to pick a 15 second clip from our #95 Christmas Filks episode that will be aired during the awards. "Whatever you feel makes you look good."

So if any of you are planning to re-listen to this episode, let me know if you hear an awesome 15 seconds of manwoody that we should use.

Does Mimi have a definitive, expanded take on this whole 'my mighty Mongol father is Tywin Lannister, therefore Tywin can't get down' thing?

How far does it go? Does she have like a younger brother who's kind of a screwup or anything that holds up the Tyrion role? Is she a twin?

I think Mimi doesn't have a twin or we would've heard about him/her during that episode where Mimi said she'd definitely bang a male form of herself. Chris's reply was that she would totally bang a female twin of herself as well. Lol. (I'm not sure but this could've been in Tyrion the Catcher???)

I was under the impression that there were thousands of iterations of Mimo bots.

Is there an individual-awards section of the Geekies? Amin slipped that one segment into the middle that was, like, fifteen seconds of taut, hard-hitting, postmodern Westerosi political analysis, and of course it was mostly Amin, you figure he must be going before westeros.org for another maester's link or something. Good luck man.

fuck, this is going to be played in front of a bunch of people? i really, really hope it's not 15 seconds of us circle-jerking about the podcast. brb trying to figure out if i have ever said anything relevant/thoughtful/constructive. or else that clip of us comparing the field of fire to charizard's hyper beam.

no offense, but i honestly dont think any of those clips represent the strength of the podcast. maybe something where you guys are actually discussing the books? or maybe doing a re-read/re-enactment?

yeah, i'm gonna start hunting through the episodes for a good, solid representation of us talking passionately about the books and not like my weird daddy issues.

basically looking for 15 seconds of amin meticulously discussing military strategy and also no input from me.

Until you realize he's just talking about military strategy in the board game.

I was told that it had to be from episode 95, it had to be 15 seconds max, and I understood that it should have at least 3 saying something, ideally 4. The last two were very difficult conditions to match, because often only 2 people will talk at a time max, 4 people in 15 seconds is a jam. And I was limited to episode 95 for source material.

The episode 95 rule stands as does 15 seconds max (although you can edit dead space to get it within 15), but turns out that it doesn't have to be 3 or 4, 1 or 2 is fine and probably more realistic.

I am sure we have some awesome clips with all 4 for 15 seconds if it could be from any episode. Not sure if they will really check or care about that or if it is really a hard rule? Kyle is the one who is managing this.

And I don't remember ever specifying any rules beyond 15 seconds from Episode 95.

I'm going to be going thru the episode tomorrow and making my selection.

I don't know exactly what's happening, but it's being live steamed to anyone in the world with an internet connection so it has the potential to be seen/heard by just a couple people.

So apparently it doesn't have to be 15 seconds, but it needs to be close. And no Amin, 30seconds-1minute is not close.

Yes that's something I assumed incorrectly when I made the above file with audio clips.

You guys realize that Mimi's daddy issues, Ashley's gaping fascination with anything huge-twisted-killing-machine, Kyle's broing, Amin's inventing some new sexual code phrase that everybody has to run into the ground - like, this is a huge part of the charm of the show? The quality of your bits, the creation of a safe space for other imagination-drunk nerds to have and audibilize these kinds of thoughts - to explore what George is telling us about our own effing lives. If you wanna go there. And let's go there. That's your claim to glory.
