I am fairly certain it will be, the question is whether the CreateSpace link will work or if you'll have to use Amazon
-- edit, it should be available on both create space and amazon. I believe whatever the shipping rate is it will be the same, if they are identical, then we prefer purchase through create space.

A huge countdown clock on the website's home page would be hilarious!

Used the CreateSpace link and it worked like a treat :)

Noticed that Prime shipping is not available from CreateSpace.

Amin: Can you give us the ballpark cut % that Amazon takes from its main site? Would it be better to buy from Amazon with free shipping and donate the extra $11.18 that we would have paid on CreateSpace for shipping to TotH and APOIAF?

Is $15.19 - Amazon cut + $11.18 donation > $15.99 - CreateSpace Cut? (Assuming the $11.18 for shipping from CreateSpace is only for shipping).

If you have Prime shipping and want to use Amazon (or want to use Amazon for any reason) that's fine, don't feel pressured that you have to use CreateSpace or to donate anything. The Amazon link should be up by Oct 8th or so, maybe earlier. We just have to promote the CreateSpace link since that's the fairest one for all authors.

If you wanted to know, each Amazon purchase earns each individual author about 70 cents (so 70 for Mimi, 70 for me). CreateSpace earns $1.10 per individual author. So not that much difference on an individual purchase, but it adds up if there are hundreds or thousands of purchases.

Thanks!

Using the savings from Prime and pumping that into TotH and APOIAF seems more beneficial than using CreateSpace. I don't feel pressured but if I was going to spend $27 I want the authors to get the most out of it.

If you do wish to donate (at any time), there is a donate link on our main page. Mimi uses the funds to pay for the costs of the website, although you can put a comment with it if it is inspired by a specific thing or for a specific purpose. However, even purchasing the collector's edition or just sharing it by word of mouth to people who would be interested during this month would be a very significant contribution :)

Amazon link is up now on our podcast store: http://podcastoficeandfire.com/apoiaf-a ... ate-links/

I just got the email! My order is being shipped and my copy will be in my hot little hands soon-ish!

If we get to meet, I'll have to get Amin to sign it for me (1 down, 3 podcast host to go!)

It could be quite cool if I could get all the authors to sign their work...

I would be happy to sign anyone's copy at future meet ups, definitely any London meet-up that I'm invited to and manage to attend.

I don't suppose people mind if I sign in blood 8-)

Anyone know if this is also on Amazon.ca, the Canadian Amazon site? 'Cause I have G.C.'s left over from XMas...

Mom though I could use them for kindle books, but my kindle is connected to Amazon.com, the only option when I bought it, and I don't want to risk losing my existing library by switching, which is now a possibility (the switching, that is. Amazon says losing my books if I do switch isn't, but I have my doubts). Plus they have more ebooks than Canadian Amazon.

I'll get one either way, most likely - wasn't planning on it, times being what they are and since I already have the original ebook, but damned if Amin didn't finally sell me on it in ep. 121... But I'll be a happy camper if I can get it with someone else's money!

Glad I convinced you, in episode 120 you mean? :) Unfortunately, it is only through Amazon.com and CreateSpace. If you do use those gift cards for other things, you could use our Amazon.ca affiliate link (http://podcastoficeandfire.com/apoiaf-a ... ate-links/) :D

I choose to pay the iron price for my copy. Is there a functionality for this on PayPal?

Hey all. Some bad news (it should have be good, if we had gotten it a few weeks ago) but apparently it is possible the book may appear on some of the Amazon Europe websites. We were told it would only appear in Amazon.com and Create Space. But after it appeared on Amazon Germany (not for order yet but as a future listing you can sign up for notification of) the editor double checked all the fine print and Amazon retains the right to distribute through their European branches (no Amazon Canada mentioned though  )

The issue is that it generally takes weeks or months before they do that for a new book, so it is possible it might not happen before the end of the month. Or it might happen. I am angry now as it makes us seem like liars when we knew nothing to the contrary, and angry on the behalf of fans that purchased it already when there is the chance it may appear on the European sites before the end of the month :x

A listener emailed me the Amazon UK link, apparently it is selling on there now (I've updated it in our podcast store)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0615 ... g=a090b-21

For those of you who ordered earlier from the UK but are still waiting for it (and Europe if you would have had access to Amazon UK at a better final rate than North America), pm me your email address. I can send you electronic copies of our artbooks (usually reserved for art book reviewers) as an apology for the wait (not much, I know, but something).

I don't think any of us who used CreateSpace regret it because we knew the authors got a better cut, but the waiting is a bit of a drag.

Thanx Amin :)

I got mine from create space and it came in just a couple days Is it just for the UK that it is slow?
