Not sure if this would be best in the games section or not but Amin mentioned playing the boardgame over the computer but there is not currently a computer version. How do you do this, via a chat room with everyone having their own board to use as a map, email? |

How do you do this, via a chat room with everyone having their own board to use as a map, email? People play pbem - by email. There are a variety of ways to do. The simplest involve editing the map file manually for every move and are hosted publicly over at the forums at bgg - http://boardgamegeek.com/forum/1083101/ ... y-by-forum If you are lucky, there are a bit more sophisticated private pbem systems that aren't quite as tedious Also there is live play, though I haven't tried this: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2643 |

Amin, do you also have the links that you shared on the podcast? They were about a guy that did a different board game and you suggested that maybe they'll be hiring him. Thanks, Marius |

My question was asking Jason if he was to pick 7 characters from the series to construct his own 'fictional' house, who would he pick? Stannis would probably be his 4 card with ... ability or .... swords/forts. I guess I should have phrased it better. |

I re-framed it for him when he didn't get it the first time, but it seemed that he didn't really want to give an extended answer like that. I wasn't going to browbeat an interview guest if they didn't feel like answering the full question and remember that the podcasts are edited. For Stannis I would think his ADWD "anti-support" bomb Stannis is a good example. |

Are the play by email essentially live games or do you do a turn or a day or week schedule. I used to play diplomacy by email and that worked great, we basically did a turn every 4 days. |

Sometimes the games go quite fast, 4 player in particular, if everyone is checking their mail actively. |

No 1st Ed. or ACoK House Ward 4: The Red Viper (2nd Ed.) 2 S 1 F Some great 4 strength cards obviously but I generally want swords on my 4 cards and this has a fort for some added flexibility 3: Ser Gregor (2nd Ed.) 3 S The Ramsay/Reek combo is enticing but hard to beat The Mountain! 2: Roose Bolton (2nd Ed.) If you lose this combat, return your entire House card discard pile into your hand (including this card) Useful 2: Doran Martell (ASoS) Immediately move your opponent to the bottom of the Fiefdoms Track. Then move players up and reassign The Valyrian Steel Blade. 1: The Blackfish (2nd Ed.) You do not take casualties in this combat from House card abilities, Combat icons, or Tides of Battle cards 1: Queen of Thorns (ADwD) Ignore all text abilities printed on your opponent's House card. 0: Patchface (2nd Ed.) After combat, you may look at your opponent's hand and discard one card of your choice. |

have anyone played any of the extension yet? how was it? If I'm not mistaken, some of the rules are different with the basic game. |

Finally listened, really great episode. Jason's always a great guest and it was very interesting board game stuff. Also, I like how I asked totally over the top questions that would require whole new games and stuff, should have tamed them a bit |

I have not played any of these games but after this interview I am interested. Is the best place to start with the 2nd Edition? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/158994 ... VG1WZ7JET6 |

Yes, start with the 2nd edition, and pick up AFFC if you are planning to play with 4 players at times (or in general a good one to get once you get settled into it). The post for the episode has affiliate links for all the different games: http://podcastoficeandfire.com/episode- ... interview/ |

Does the 2nd edition have a lot of spoilers? My wife is up to date with the show but has not read the books and would like to play with her without spoiling anything if possible. |

Not base 2nd edition, unless someone were to go ahead and explain every character on the house cards to her, which isn't a problem in base game really, only ADWD. ADWD would be spoiler full even from the setup, AFFC only has "alayne stone" card which again should mean nothing unless attention is drawn to it. The main problems about spoilers related to the game are people who can't stop talking about spoilers during the game. |
