I'm not sure if there is/was a New York meetup, but I couldn't find any mention of one on the forums. I'm sure there are tons of House Manwoody people in New York, so there should definitely be one. I don't have a definite place or date yet, but I figured we could plan something once we knew who was interested. So, if you're interested, post what you'd want to do and we can figure it out! |

In the grand tradition of me trying to attend every global meetup, if this is in mid-March, I'm there! |

Ya it totally could be. Mid-March sounds good to me. When exactly will you be in New York? |

That sounds great. Anytime either the 21, 22, 23 should work. I live in Brooklyn, but I understand that no one wants to leave Manhattan I'm sure that there are more listeners who live in New York, so we should be able to get some more people! Maybe the hosts can announce it on an episode so that listeners who aren't on the forum can hear about it. |

I can't do Friday or Saturday, but I'd LOVE to have a meetup on another day! Maybe that Sunday? |

I can't do the Sunday as I'll be flying to LA BUT I'm not a New Yorker so no worries: as a catalyst to you guys meeting, my work here is done! |

Ok. We can keep open the possibility of any of the days. What do we want to do? |

I would love for this to happen. I live on Long Island, but I'm just a LIRR ride away from Penn Station, so it's definitely doable for me. Weekends at night would work for me or Mondays/Thursday. But if we actually organize something on a specific day with enough notice I could definitely just take the day off. Keep me in the loop. |

I suggest getting together in a bar or coffee shop where we can actually talk and be heard somewhere central! |

Yeah I might be able to squeeze in an attendance too (it's the holiday in mid march so I'll be home in Philly). |

Arrgh. I just realized I can't do it that weekend. Is there any other time that works for people? March 20-24 is the only time I can't. I can do any other day. |

If I could do it, and I don't know that I could, the only time until May or August would be between the 10th and the 22nd. OTOh, I'm not from NYC so I don't really count |

Who could do it on either March 17, 18, 19, or 20? |

The 20th can work for me. I have family flying in, but I believe it is late at night. Anyway, I could leave early if things were going on till the early morning. Does anyone have any favorite bars? I live in Brooklyn, but I assume everyone will want to go to Manhattan? |

I don't know Manhattan that well aside from going to the occasional show/concert. I will definitely use this as an excuse to go to the Strand Bookstore as I've been meaning to go there for years. So I might be coming to the bar with several bags of books... |

I don't really do the bar thing, but I'll show up wherever |

Bina, holy cow! Soho House is snazzy! I feel like I'd have to get my hair done just to get in the door Another alternative is Uncommon, which is a boardgame cafe near Washington Square. I've never been, but I've heard good things. http://www.uncommonsnyc.com/visit/ |

The Uncommons looks like it may be a good place. Might be better than a bar. |

I like The Uncommons too. Did we pick a date? |

I think we're down for either the 19th (Wednesday) or 20th (day after Wednesday.) Any preferences? |

19th is better for me. And Uncommons sounds fantastic. |

19th it is, then? Shall we say... 6:30 or 7? |
