inspired by our recent bouts of isketch games and the various hilarious, terrible draws that have resulted from them.
this might seem like a daunting task, but it could be fun! it could be the ultimate podcast of ice and fire project.
let's take turns drawing chapters of game of thrones.
please read all rules before participating! they are not long. i promise.
- 1. computer drawings only, done with a mouse.
use the paint program in windows, or paintbrush for mac.
don't need to get fancy with photoshop, illustrator, or vector drawings. we're not all artists here, and the point of the drawings is to make them hilarious and cruddy.
2. draw chapters in order.
use tower of the hand's chapter recaps for guidance.
to prevent multiple people from working on the same chapter:
post a reply with the number and name of the chapter you're intending to draw
then go back and edit your post to include the finished product once you've drawn it.
3. use a particular scene from your chapter.
lots of things happen in any given chapter, but the idea is to be concise, and take a snapshot of it by producing one drawing.
don't try to cram every event into one picture. keep it simple, and pick out what seems the most fun to draw.
no comic strips! think of it as a singular picture book drawing.
4. paraphrase dialogue.
if you're drawing a conversation between characters, or a bit of dialogue, try to shy away from plagiarizing martin's exact words. get creative!
5. keep it going!
don't worry about how good the drawing looks.
use stick figures if you want, keep it black and white if you're lazy.
the point is to keep the ball rolling, and to produce a continuous game of thrones picture book, as imagined by APOIAF.
free, simple image hosting sites: you can upload your drawings to tinypic or imageshack.
i am adding all drawings, with credits, to our APOIAF facebook photo album as we go.
