Cool episode, enjoyed the Bugs Bunny interlude. Also was nice to get two of my questions answered.

Ah crap. Should have asked him about the White Walker language. These things always come to mind too late.

David could not answer any questions beyond season 4, like whether he would create other languages for GOT, that's why we didn't ask it.

I totally gasped out loud like a moron when David said that GRRM sent him lines to translate for The Winds of Winter. That's just crazy cool.

(But no, I'm sorry. It's Bree-ENNE.)

Nice to have some Roy Dotrice appreciation. APOIAF has made me almost unable not to hear Pirates and Leprechauns when I listen to the audiobooks that I once loved.

I usually can tell who came to the series from the audiobooks first as they usually pronounce it Bri-eene. (as I did). But it is interesting that the language expert said that was the correct way.

Not comment on the sanity thing, though ;)

David's a smart and funny guy. When he started talking about dentals and refferants and the like, I was just glad that I was following him even a little bit.

Very enjoyable episode all around.

Totally. I was like... wait. He sounds just like you! I guess it's because you both have this habit of talking in a really leisurely manner. Almost like a drawl but not quite and the voice comes out really deep. Gah I can't describe it, this is why I am not an author

And to echo Shellfish, yes yes yes about the White Walker language.

Although I expect he would totally answer questions on his blog!

This.

I was pleasantly suprised by this episode. This is one I thought I might skip. Like the boardgame episodes. Not sure why I was biased against hearing how fake languages are created. Glad I didn't. David was funny and interesting.

That was a really fun episode. It would be nice if David was brought on as a recurring guest. It would be interesting to hear him on a GNO.

Thanks for asking my question! I thought he was gonna go the "just hire one of us" route for a while there but he did include some tips from GRRM that are useful.

Thank you for asking my questions, at least one. I got, as a phonetic line. " Hava jon my son ya ree " but this stuff is not my strong suit. I have taken Spanish One like 5 times, always get an A but forget everything but the cuss words. I guess the pick up line will work better in High Valyrian.

I liked David's assessment of Tywin's attitude toward whores -- that it's OK to use them, but not to fall in love with them. It fits with most of the rest of his character. What I still don't quite get is why he'd associate with Shae. His treatment of her contrasts strongly with his treatment of Tysha. Both were women Tyrion got overly attached to, but the one who was already a whore got the privilege of wearing the Hand's bling, instead of being handed over to the troops.

I really enjoyed this one, David was much funnier than I expected. His insights into the Tywin/Tyrion relationship were pretty neat. I also found it surprising just how much I understood all the jargon. I expected most of it to go over my head but between studying Latin and having a good mate who's a linguistics major it made a fair bit of sense.

I realized that the title of this thread could either be incredibly flattering or insulting depending on whether or not you watch Adventure Time or not.

What was the language mentioned about 300 words for profit, but none for honour?
