 Wish I would have known I was going to be quoted.
Glad I gave it a good score for once :)

I tend to agree with Kyle about the whimper/fizzle ending but still REALLY enjoyed the battle itself and thought it unfair to judge it on what it wasn't or what it didn't do when I did enjoy so much of what it did accomplish.

My point about the Scythe is that the Wildlings have hundreds of miles of unguarded Wall so that they never actually climb at the ONE place where a single Crow with a pile of rocks could easily kill them all.
The Scythe looked cool but was really an impractical use of resources.

I am definitely in the minority on Jon's smile but I still hate it.

To answer Kyle's question, Ghost shows up after Stannis in the books in the last Jon chapter where he gets selected as a Lord Commander.

I was confused for a sec when Jon gave Sam the key also. But I didn't think it was Jon asking for Maester Aemon. Hilarious!

And Shame on APOIAF for having to look up Three-Fingered Hobb!!!!

I have a feeling that Tormund will take the place of Val. They'll probably keep him around for a while and send him out to gather the remaining wildlings when Jon is LC. That would make some of his brothers even angrier with him, because, unlike Val, Tormund has actually killed a lot of them in battle.

I'm glad you explained that statement. You left yourself wide open for wide interpretation otherwise.

This was great! One day I will be as cool as FT Ward and be quoted on the podcast! I really hope we get Val.

I felt conflicted about this episode. It was really good as a standalone except for the ending I just wish the stakes has been established better in the previous episodes.

Lol. I was on my phone so I accidentally hit send before I was done typing. Freudian ship?

Some Jon and Tormund interactions would be a trade-up from interactions with Pyp and Grenn. I would miss Val though if she really is left out.

Just finished listening. I liked Kyle & Amin reacting to FTWards comments. That should be a regular bit. It's a strange feeling having your quotes mentioned on the podcast from the forum threads (the one time it happened for me), but I like how it brings the listeners and hosts together.

Oh, I loved that music at the end of the podcast. Does anyone know what it's called?

I thought that was just the podcast music, but we never heard it go for so long before.

Thanks for the episode.

Don't really agree that even Gregor deserved the manticore venom+. Don't feel that bad for him, but poison is still a chickenshit weapon. Then again, I'm not super pro-Dorne.

There were a bunch of spearwives in pretty much all the wildling horde shots. If you can't see them, you can definitely hear them.

As someone who gets annoyed when they remove some cool awesome ladies (eg. Dacey Mormont, Chataya) this makes me pleased. Still booing them killing the Moles Town whores instead of having them help at the Wall. I liked the ragtag bunch of people there in the books.

I wonder if Davos is going to be at the Wall next ep? I've already heard rumours that they took out the Tysha stuff

I love how Kyle's pronunciation of "scythe" changes several times during the podcast, without even getting it right once :P

I think that they may use Tormund instead of Mance to go to Winterfell. The actor that is Mance seems to old to get away with what needs to be done within Winterfell. I just don't see him pulling off the bard role.

ulfgator is probably right though. It makes sense that Tormund goes and gets the wildlings which is not that far from the books because Tormund follows Val to the Wall right?

This is a complete thread hijack but if they do the Urza's Saga storyline a MtG show might actually be good.

I read the fictional novels of Urza's Saga when they were coming out in parallel with the packs. A story of a time traveling group of misfits on a flying ship trying to stop an evil shapeshifting demon could do well. Phyrexia would be cool to see on screen too.

Two men, two countries, neither can pronounce scythe properly :) But they are the watchers on the podcast wall and as such I rush into the tunnel happily to meet death! Really appreciate the efforts you two make every week, can't be easy.

Aaaaand it's done. Now if my DSL connection will stop being a pain in my dick, I'll see about getting it uploaded to YouTube along with the amusing slideshow I've slapped together with it.
