poe is correct, we don't make announcements or explanations for past hosts (except ben, RIP).
there are no plans for recruiting a sixth member for the podcast.

After Chase first appeared as a guest host I said to myself "they need to get him back as a permanent member." I was glad he did. Good luck with whatever you're wasting your time doing now Chase.

I'm guessing once you have been around for a few years, you have to 'honor' some traditions.

Leaving any sort of group is a usually a pretty touchy and/or personal topic. Since this is a podcast, they don't have the option of just citing "creative differences" Keeping it quiet is probably the most prudent course of action.

That has nothing to do with taking themselves seriously, and everything to do with some respect. You don't talk about people behind their back/when they can't respond.

The closer the lol to text ratio of a post is to 1, the quality of a post drops to zero.

Chase was a valuable asset to the podcast, especially considering that I remember him being quite critical of HBO's adaptation of the books. His removal from the podcast can only indicate that its other members couldn't stand any deviation, and preferred the podcast to be a jerkoff fest with everyone agreeing with each other.

if your accusation was correct, chase would have stayed on the podcast without doing the show recaps, which are a small and limited run of episodes.
however, that's not the reason for his departure, which i've pointed out before. i do agree that he was a valuable asset to show, since it was my initial decision to take him on as a host.

Yeah Mimi really isn't the kind of person to shy away from criticism. After all, how many times has she snuggled up to such terms as 'shocking lack of knowledge' or 'sour circle of spite'? The entire APOIAF has been shit on by the ASOIAF web community since its birth, and none of them have really let it sway them from their chosen course. I wasn't there, but I'd believe Mimi kicked Chase off of the podcast for having a different opinion than her about as soon as I'd believe that Joffrey was Robert's trueborn son. Give her, and her chosen co-hosts some credit. They've eaten plenty of shit sandwiches, a few lemoncakes would taste sweet by comparison. Most likely Chase had other things he wanted to do or else, like many other former hosts before him, simply chose to stop doing it for his own personal reasons.
