I thought I might give another shameless plug to the "Arya I" chapter reading we recorded on KrakenKast, back in July. You can listen here: http://vokpodcast.wordpress.com/2014/07/05/vok-119-full-castle-recording-savage-dreams/ Thanks again to Amin for inviting us on the podcast proper (though I'm still devastated Ashley wasn't on). Fingers crossed we see a few other veteran vassals on next year - like Alias, ETD and Shellfish. And finally, my favourite Maise Williams video of all time: |

My blood boils with rage imagining the shit Cersei was talking about Tyrion to Tywin while he was unconscious. "Oh my god! So like I did everything, the wildfire was my idea, and the Tyrell marriage, and I organised the city defenses, Tyrion did nothing. And oh my god, Tyrion hit Joffery, then he abducted Tommen and then he was fucking a whore! Goddamit Cersei, I hate you so much! |

The wildfire was her idea. Tyrion over inflates his import. It's a Tywin - Tyrell victory regardless of anything Tyrion does. |

The chain was all Tyrion. Stannis knows what's up. |

Mordion wrote: What did she want to do with the wildfire? (SLoK) Fling it with catapults. Tyrion decides that that'd be disastrous in practice. iirc. |

Plus, it was a tad bit bigger than a normal chain. Cersei was going to throw pots over the walls with catapults. Instead, Tyrion locked the majority of Stannis' navy in the mouth of the Rush with the chain and set the river on fire, destroying everything in its clutches. He also used his wildmen to kill Stannis' scouts and foragers as they approached by land from the south, delaying them and disrupting Stannis' attack plans. It's pretty obvious he was integral to the city's defense. Stannis himself acknowledges that Tyrion is a dangerous man. He should know better than anyone. |

Re Tywin and Shae: The question of Tywin's motivation for doing Shae has come up in a few episodes and it has always seemed strange that a lot people dismiss Tywin as having a depraved sexual motive in it. It seems self explanatory to me that Tywin's punishment for Tyrion regarding Tysha hints pretty strongly that Tywin had some weird father/son rivalry going on. I just can't see it as surprising or odd for Tywin to have had sex with Shae when the foundational incident we have involving Tywin, Tyrion and sex involves Tywin orchestrating and watching a gang rape with his own son as the sloppiest 50th. I can't see how we can view the Shae thing without harking back to Tysha. |
