Sadly I struck out trying to get badges this year. I'll still be there on vacation to visit family but unless they do a badge resell I won't be able to go to Con. I miss when it was easy to go every year.

I want to find out how to submit a fan panel, but I can't find how to do so online and haven't had the time yet to look deeply for it. I know most of them are professional panels, but I remember attending a few small fan-based panels late at night that were on anime. The schedule actually had some empty rooms around then that could have been filled. I think we could get together a fan run panel Ice and Fire panel to just chat about the books and show with whoever showed up.

George says he's not going to San Diego Com, but if he releases Winds of Winter he will......begin wild speculation.

Confirmed and psyched! Though it will be quite different without George, he's been a big presence the last two years I was there.

Hotel bookings starting Tuesday , I will be looking for a roommate if you know anyone from your group that needs one. I figure I will try to book on Tuesday and then settle that after, fully refundable until April 15 anyway.

I will take hotel recommendations as well.

I think my group is mostly set but I'll keep an eye out! What you need to know about hotels is SIGN UP FAST. They can go in seconds. The closer they are, the higher competition, but really it's all insane.

Going to do another podcast meetup, I'm thinking Wednesday night after preview night again, worked nice last year ~9pm before everyone got busy the following days.

I'll be getting to town earlier this year so I want to make sure to get all my free swag during preview night

I've only missed 2 years in the past decade but this year I couldn't get badges again. I might still make the trip to visit my family and take part in the off site Con stuff but I'm not sure now.

I'm coming for Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to seeing folks. We should do a big cell number exchange.

All of you are super brave, I avoid anything south of of Mira Mesa during comic con. Please enjoy our ridiculous amount of craft brewery's Stone and Ballast Point are the best. Avoid the Gaslamp if you want to save money and hit PB instead for all your debauchery. Make sure you eat a California Burrito and tell the world how fries make everything better.

But seriously its been really hot and humid here the last two weeks so prepare for that.
