I had, if I say so myself, a brilliant idea last year that I didn't have time for, and didn't work on as I had intended, and am not working on now...

Anyone else have anything?

I also have a brilliant idea that I have not had time to do, so...I guess that would be a no. Is there a dead line?

We talked about this yesterday, there will be a call for submissions in the next podcast episode. We will be collecting them so yeah post them here when you get the chance, no set deadline yet.

I'm up for recording something if someone with an idea has a suggestion. Or I could just sing Marzy Doats and try to make something ASOIAF related from it.

I've got one written so far but haven't had time to record yet..
To the tune of "deck the halls"

Pack The Halls with Hostile Northmen...
Spoiler: show
Pack the halls with hostile Northmen
bolton Umber stout and manderly
Witness to a feigned stark Union
Roose must know his grip is slippery
Now the lords sit down and break bread
Wyman serves up revenge happily
The freys don't know their kin are dead
Just ate slices of their family

2nd verse

Now the gods bring on the snowing
cramped and grumpy men are stuck inside
And the stress is only growing
Rumors spread Ramsay mistreats his bride
Lady Dustin inspects the crypts
Missing swords, the ghosts could run amok
seems a traitor walks in their midst
Bolton's loyalist have had bad luck

3rd verse

The first death might just be misfortune
But why would anyone pee from the wall
Then a mans found nude and frozen
And then one turns up with a broken skull
a castle filled with apprehension
suspects and bodies all over the place
Roose struggles to curb the tension
And yellow dick's dick is stuffed in his face

4th verse

Hear the war drums outside booming
Enemies outside inside as well
Manderly and freys Start feuding
send them through the gates of winter fell
A rescue plan amidst Confusion
So many die at least jeyne lives so that's nice
Bring on the violent conclusion
A bloody battle fought in snow and ice
A bloody battle fought in snow and ice

I thought I wasn't going to have time ( even tho I've been thinking about it since July and struggling for inspiration, we've done so many now I can't remember which songs we've covered :P ) managed a couple to the tunes of Mary's boy child and Santa bring my baby back to me , sent them in today , hope they make the cut :D

So glad Jed's participating again :)

Also I thought it might be cool to have a nice sentimental New Years song. I have this one verse written to the tune of Auld Lang's Syne. Does anybody else have any inspiration to add any other verses celebrating apoiaf and House Manwoody? This is what I have so far:

Should podcast shows on westeros be how you spend your time
And naughty jokes from witty blokes are what you have in mind
A podcast of ice and fire is really quite sublime
Amin Ashley kyle and mimi can show you a good time.

I've only received the two from Jed so far. Should start recording this week as I am to get it out before the new year.

Well if it's not too late I'll certainly get a couple recorded.

didn't like my old one that much so this is just a re-record. Maybe a moot point this late in the game but anyway here it is

Sorry all, I was too busy during my vacation to put these files together and we didn't do an episode record anyway. I will put it at the end of the next episode which will be past the next season but at least on the record, and make a video for youtube at some point.

Definitely a lackluster year for the Filks. I'm expecting everyone is ready to come back in full force December 2016. Group songs, duets, acoustic guitar... Just the whole shebang. ;)

Ya, I never did get the idea I had in 2014 going, and after taking a quarter off from choir and spending my commute time listening to podcasts instead of singing my voice is an embarrassment  2016 fo sho!

I am debating about whether to create a clip of the songs created this and put on youtube, or just save them to include in and boost next year's episode instead (and skip out on this year since the season is over).

I didn't submit so my input doesn't count, but it seems to me that as long as they don't get lost it'd be ok to save em :)
