I really didn't think it was that lopsided (thats what she said).

Don't despair gentlemen. I'm sure the other 900 forum members who haven't voted are all female.
I'd be more interested to learn how many of the (QUELLE SURPRISE!) overwhelmingly male listernership doesn't give a fuck about the ladies and enjoys team baths in the woods...

I love that comic! How do you tell an extroverted engineer from an introverted engineer? The extrovert stares at your shoes instead of his own while he talks to you! And then they continue to make more money than you and make you feel bad about being a humanities major

I did not know that I was in such a minority. I would've thought the male to female ratio would've been more equal. I suppose that's just me and the fact that the people I know IRL who have read the books are split about equal between male and female.

Considering all of the dick jokes I don't really remember being that surprised. Also some of the earlier episodes are.... not the best for showing the podcast's love for female characters.

My rule of thumb, It's not what you say, it's how you say it. And I think the lesbian slurs come from a good place.
From someone who identifies as non-het, don't ever try to say it if you're not part of that group.

Sorry if I offended by being a bit flippant about what is a very serious issue. I don't like the use of slurs and I especially dislike when gay or lesbian slurs are used in public. You just don't know whom you might offend, especially when kids are present. Who knows which of them are still learning to accept their own sexual preference and how it fits in the world?
I guess what I was saying is I believe the podcast members to be non-bigoted and I feel that there is no animosity or condecension behind the language. I like that when you listen to them it's like listening to a group of friends hanging out and having a very informal discussion. Sometimes when friends are together they feel comfortable in not worrying about being PC. No, the language isn't always clean, and I would certainly not judge anyone if they did get offended. I personally just am not offended by it. But I totally see your point that people should be very careful with language that could offend. Happily I can say that slurs aren't a part of my vocabulary.
