Hey everyone.

So if you didn't know APOIAF has a youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/apoiaf

If you head over there you will soon find out that we don't really do much with it. I'd like to change that. So the question is what she we do? What sort of videos would interest you guys? What would you like to see up there?

Now I know most of you are going to say Mimi and Ashley's sexiness all over the place, but I'd prefer to hear legit suggestions. And while video podcasts might be cool, I don't see that happening any time soon. All you would see anyway is Amin looking awesome in sunglasses. Mimi taking 500 hour to look perfect and then trying to convince us she looks like crap. Ashley changing wigs to look like every anime character ever. And me surrounded by porn stars. You think we take a long time editing audio? Just imagine us editing video.....ain't gonna happen.

So what do you think?

Thanks in advance.

You know, I REALLY loved the eps where you guys read out a part of the book doing all different voices.

It could be cool if you did a few scenes like that, maybe with some wicked Paint pics of the characters for images?

I dunno, but it could be hilarious. It would be great acting practice for Kyle haha, everyone knows the money these days is in voicework.

I second this.
Based on APOIAF's recent twitter message, that could totally work too. You know, the one where Kyle = Arys Oakheart, Mimi = Arianne Martell, Amin = Darkstar etc... But really, go wild. It doesn't have to be from ACoK. It could be from anywhere. :B

How about each host record and edit a short introduction video about yourself? Just cover stuff like:

- Who you are and what you do thats not Ice and Fire related
- What is the story of you getting on the podcast
- Favorite and least favorite storylines from the books
- Favorite podcast moment so far
- Describe each other podcast host in one word

You could each do your own individual style. Kyle could do an audition tape for the show, Ashley could wear 14 different costumes, Mimi could do her own reality show with 3 different personalities, and Amin could do a full out sexposition scene! Whatever your sick twisted minds can come up with!

I know regular listeners already know most of the info in this, but its still different actually seing you guys rather than just listening.

And them put them all in a playlist - "House Manwoody - Introducing the Circle of Spite"

I third this!! I love hearing you guys act out the scenes. I could listen to the whole book series with you guys acting out the verbal parts!

Yeah I was thinking that would be a fun scene for us to read out loud.

Good god, yes.

Dramatic readings of the characters.

If you could combine that with an MS Paint theater, that would be amazing.

The cast could teach us how to MS paint happy little weirwood trees.

Late to the convo, but hey I don't particularly care. My suggestion though wouldn't really increase how often you guys post vids though. But I know that you guys have mentions that you like to go to conventions and stuff like the food trucks and so on. Or at least more so then I've ever really been able to. Anyway, you guys could record some of your trips to those things and put them up there. Even if you don't really have anything ice and fire related it'd be cool. Most people who are hardcore enough to be following a fantasy series's podcast's youtube channel are probably nerdy enough (i include myself in that category) to enjoy those things as well. Just a thought. Again I don't really see that increasing how often you post up there by much but it's an idea. :D

I've often thought of doing this since I recently started going to quite a few cons, but it's very hard to find a dedicated camera man who won't run off and chase the cosplay girls.

Post em! My Food Truck videos were done on a cheap little point and shoot and they were still fun.

I agree with the rest. I think it would be great to hear everyone read in dramatic voices with the MS Paint pictures. People can ever draw more pictures for each chapter so you can make each POV go a bit longer.

Honestly I'd love to get you listeners involved in the youtube channel. I don't want it to be the hosts show. For example I'd love to ask for video submission for say "You're favorite scene in Dance." Then take all of the videos we get from you guys and edit them together into a cool montage.

Or maybe just a cool montage of all the listeners saying where they are from.

I'm just thinking out loud here.

Or you know what would be cool and probably get some good attention is if we got all you guys to send in a 5 second video simply saying "Thanks George." If we had hundreds of people saying that in a youtube video....!

I think that would be really cool.

Dude, that's a really good idea. I think it has viral potential. I can sort of picture it. Put in some music. Then a black screen appears, with some words on it, like...

Your characters have dazzled us, frustrated us, made us laugh and scream and cry. We are consumed by your words you have woven and in turn the worlds you have wrought have engulfed our lives. You said, a reader lives a thousand lives, the man who never reads lives only one. Through us readers, the characters to which you gave life will live a billion lives at a thousand different paces and speak in a hundred languages... We want to thank you, George, for having written.

Something like that, something less crappy.

Then comes the montage of different people all around the world saying thank you! Imagine if the GoT cast makes it too :p After all a fair number of them have gotten into the books.

About Comic-con, well, actually I don't know anything about Comiccon. And flying for like 25 hours alone is super daunting. I'll prolly deal with the boredom but not with the anxiety of being in a totally foreign place with a million geeks, neckbeards and nerds. But if I do ever make it, I promise to not run away to chase anyone :p

that was kind of the original idea behind filming our dance reactions, get all the fans to do it too then put it all together... of course we see how well that went....

Maybe us international peeps could say it in our native tongue?

Also that would mean Mimi could be in it 3 times!

Not a bad idea... but all I can think about is the reaction it would get from the anti-GRRM sites. You know, that whole portion of the "fan" base that hates George (and Ty, and Elio, etc.) with a passion.

Ok here's something else I was thinking about last night. And once again I'm just thinking out loud here so roll with it. Let me know what you think. Hate, love, etc.

Staying with the idea of doing a montage of you guys (the listeners), I was thinking it'd be cool to do a "Fan's review of Game of Thrones Episode X" What I mean by that is that I would ask for video submissions from you guys. Short reactions to the most recent episode of GoT. No more than a minute long. Either how you felt about the entire episode or a scene or any sort of episode specific feedback.

I'd take the submissions and edit them into a 5 minute or so "Fan Review."

What that ultimately becomes is based on you guys. I'm sure some of you would have quick, short response (like a 2 second "Ghost was awesome!") and some of you would have longer responses. (I didn't like the Littlefinger scene because yadda yadda yadda). And it's all good. As long as I can throw together lots of fans voicing there opinions on the episode I think we'd have a fun little project.

I just like the idea of having dozens of fans voicing their opinion on any given episode. Instead of just one person telling you what they thought about the episode this would have a myriad of rapid fire opinions. I think that's pretty cool and unique (I think).
