Maybe Kyle can guest host on Table talk sometime? Not sure why we are all particularly into redheads lately, wonder if it means something

Most of the crew over there are Game of Thrones fans so maybe a chance will come up to join them for a show discussion.

Great to hear everyone's reaction to the win! To clarify on the london pub quiz - KCenturion almost singlehandedly won. House Manwoody placed second to him half way through but then we totally died on the Movie (my bad) and so finally placed fourth out of thirty teams. But we're both entering again next month so we'll keep you posted!. We totally owned the Geek though - the pub question setters had some flaky answers that showed a shocking lack of knowledge, so we actually had to correct them! Also, we Londoners love you too Mimi! Finally, as further evidence of Jed's coolness - he's having a ASOIAF themed birthday extravaganza next summer - he totally rocks.

don't judge me bro... For mimi: The lovely girl with the Jeyne Westerling hips presenting the award to Stan Lee was Ivy Doomkitty Congrats again! Thanks mimi for bringing up the thanking George thing. I felt like a dick for thinking it, glad I am not alone.

So, NEEDS TO BE SAID, DAMMIT, but as afaik yet unaddressed:
Re: the source episode, #95, and its controversial Kyle v Ashley standoff over Ice, Kyle is totally right. There's no way you give Ice back to the Starks after Ned is executed.
First of all, it's not like this thing is really some fabled weapon of legend that Brandon the Builder was out waving around or anything. The Starks have had Ice for less than 400 years, less than, say, the Tarlys have had Heartsbane. They clearly went out and bought that shit at some point right before the Doom. So it's not like you're keeping Dawn from the Daynes or something.
That said - it's a Valyrian steel weapon - and, true, it's just one weapon for one guy that doesn't make a *huge* difference in the grand scheme of things, but the fact is you do see single combat deciding political issues quite a bit, with some pretty high level players - just start from Robert vs. Rhaegar and go. These noble houses have a ton riding on the one-on-one melee prowess of their lords & heirs. You can't give Robb Stark a, say, 15% better chance to kill Jaime Lannister in single combat - a situation that nobody would be surprised at, had it evolved naturally - just because it's the sporting thing to do. Plus once you've made the decision to go ahead and extinguish the Stark line, you can just keep the sword so you can melt it and fucking Joffrey can fucking have one. (what happened to Widow's Wail?)
I just want you guys to know that I've been stewing over that one since I listened to the episode once the clip-submission feelers started, and finally I can move on with my life.
Also, Kyle's date is an omegababe with outstanding taste in eveningwear.
Also, congrats again on your achievement!

congratulations again guys.
if i could psycho analyze you all for a second i think everyone needs a little "glass half full" shift in their way of thinking.
ashley "this is probably the only award i'll ever win and i missed it"
mimi "i'll never win anything ever again" "i'm horrible"
etc
its certainly a common habit and a sign of humility to be able to critique oneself and not let one's ego get too inflated, but perhaps its also important to bask in the glory of your achievements when they come without beating oneself down too much.
Amin was definitely right, there will be many more great moments to come in your lives. you all for sure deserved this award and worked hard for it.
cheers to a bright future ahead

Oh, they're beside themselves. AS WELL THEY SHOULD BE. Churning out hundreds of highly listenable hours of anything, and then having that product selected as the most fun to listen to amongst its peers, is pretty awesome. True glory consists in doing what deserves to be written, and in writing what deserves to be read, and in podcasting that which deserves to be written.

You guys have made something we're all willing to sink a fair portion of our time and energy into and that's pretty damn incredible!

Wow! Congratz on the big win! Well deserved, for sure. Curious, so I gotta ask: Bina007 wrote: ...we totally died on the Movie... We totally owned the Geek though... I know what 'a movie' and 'a geek' are, but what are 'The Movie' and 'The Geek' in this context? But mainly I just wanted to congratulate the podcast crew on winning the award! You guys were kidding about starting to podcast weekly because of this, right? That'd be awesome if you meant it - I mean, I like Game of Owns just fine and all, but that's 3 extra times a week I wish I was listening to a new APoIaF episode. But judging from the explosion of laughter than ensued after it was suggested, I'm guessing weekly episodes (in the TV show's off-season) are not likely to happen. Would have been nice, but either way I'm sure everyone'll be happy with whatever you can find time to record.

Congrats guys! As a relatively new listener (first one was GO3) I think y'all have a great chemistry and content. You often hear much worse two-person pods and all I have heard is good audio! Looking forward to another 100! Quote: (what happened to Widow's Wail?) I was wondering that a couple days ago...

You deserved it so much and I would like if you would be part of the jury next year. On the other hand you could send a new awesome christam s episode in an win another blaster, and than another one - until every host has its own blaster Thanks for the videos also - and Kyle - that speech was great and I hope you got to know some new, influencal people. Although you really could become to expensive for aPoIaF as Vaarsuvius once predicted... Nevertheless, your date looks really nice and glad that everybody enjoyed the evening. Are you proud that you as "the new guy" had the honor of accepting that price? I have to say, as former guest host, I feel a little bit important now and proud to be able to say: "I was on an award-winning internet show". Although my parents may also ask where my best-doctor-award is...

Kyle wrote: Here's the official video of APOIAF winning the Geekie Award. That's awesome, great job. I would have never noticed you getting lost on the way to the stage or fumbling around in your jacket pocket for the speech; if you hadn't mentioned it. But since you did, it makes it that little bit more entertaining. And gives it great rewatchability to know your inner monologue throughout that clip. Congratulations again to the number 1 podcast.

Having watched the clip now, Kyle, that was a really good speech. Though, I'm shocked the line about the tree falling on Aaron's house didn't get a laugh.

Oops, sorry. Ben was potentially flattened, Aaron went to the Quiet Isle to be with the fishwives?

If you guys get nominated again, you should submit this episode. Might get enough pity votes from judges trying to prevent Mimi and Ashley from commiting suicide that you'll win again.

Maybe you will be invited to present the best podcast award at the next award show. It's what happens at the Oscars anyway.
