Hi all , I organised an ASOIAF pub crawl stag do a few weekends ago and I thought a few of you might be interested . The pubs I found and thought wd make a reasonable circuitous route on the tube were as follows
The Kingsland - dalston junction
The Dragon - Hoxton
The Blind Beggar- whitechapel
The Hole in the Wall - waterloo
The Three Stags - Lambeth North
The Falcon- Clapham north
the Rose - Vauxhall
The Golden Lion - greenpark
Montague Pyke - Tottenham Court rd
The Sun Tavern -Covent Garden
John Snow - oxford circus
Woofes Bar - Holorn
There were a few rules (natch) we had a pair of silver antlers which had to be kept raised at all times by two "antler men" these antler men had a dragon (fridge magnet) and a lion (coin) hidden in their pocket. Whenever we reached a pub on the list ( or any inbetween that cd be connected to asoiaf , kings heads, red lions etc) the antler men had to ask the barperson dragon or lion, and the loser had to buy the winner a shot , before nominating the next2 antler men. We were a bit late starting so didn't make the last 3 , but when Tina and I ventured up to the scalethewall event a few days after we decided to find the remainders to check them out for next time .I shall drop the woolfes bar as its a bit posh , and swap it for the Clapham North next time we have a crack at it ( when Amin comes over maybe ?)
NB the Blind Beggar has 2 connections to asoiaf 1 Arya in Bravos (natch) and 2 it was the pub in which the notorious gangster TWINS Ronnie and Reggie Kray shot some poor fella ( Jack the hat McVitie if memory serves ) dead, back in the sixties.
There are no other asoiaf crawls in London to my knowledge, I couldn't find any on the net anyway , so I'm claiming the first and original :-) A splendid time was had by all :-)

Awesome! The Kingsland is a 10 minute walk from my flat!

I've actually frequented the latter half of that list on different outings. All really good places for a drink!

You forgot The Trout in Hammersmith!

sounds good to me :-)
the Trout was a possibility but I thought it was a bit far out, altho' with an early start it cd be included :-)
I forgot to mention my fav part of the day , on one station platform there was a poster of Jack Gleeson advertising s4 which led to a football style chorus of us 12 blokes singing " Joffrey , you're a c*** . Joffrey Joffrey you're a c***" I've never felt so happy :-)

OMFG we totally need to have a ASOIAF football chant filks edition!
Also rewritten football songs - an ASOIAF version of blowing bubbles or you'll never walk alone.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Does your hearty English constitution enable you to actually have a pint at 12 different pubs with extra shots thrown in for good measure and still remain on your feet and loosely cogent at the end of it? I know that I would be under the table before we even approached our final destination. Maybe if it was an all day affair with food throughout, then I could complete such a trek. Anyway, more power to you, you have my respect and admiration.

weeellllll we had 5 pints in hatfield waiting for some late arrivals before we caught the train (at 3pm) but only made 9 official pubs , so it wd have been 14 pints plus a few shots , not a bad session. we did grab a pasty off the stall at waterloo station to eat en route to the next pub , but we have a saying over here , "eating's cheating" when out on the lash, but it is pretty much compulsory to have a kebab on the way home :D

I don't know if I'm proud or ashamed of this , a bit of both I think

I can't believe that an asoiaf pub crawl happened so close to me and I missed it :( sad face! I really need to meet with other book lovers at some point and a quick trip into Londinium would be just what I need!
