Really great group. Have not read the story but enjoyed listening. One question though. Does this story take place in the ASoIaF universe? Thanks in advance.

My words are being twisted. I said If it had to be in the same world then I thought that made sense, but I stand firm that it is not even in the same universe. It's just a separate story. A beautiful story, but it stands alone.

My fanfictiony idea was that the southern capital was a very primitive version of Valyria (like just learning how to use dragons for the first time). And back then there were other petty dragon kingdoms scattered around Essos (Valyria eventually defeated them all, and were ready to take on the Ghiscari). So, the only candidate for a rival civilization north of Valyria would be the ancient Kingdom of Sarnor, which has since fallen into ruin. And then, Adara's farming village might have rested half way between the two kingdoms, like on the borders of the Forests of Qohor, where it might receive snow. Keep in mind, these people are still Andals, since it would predate the migration to Westeros, which is why they so closely resemble Andal culture. I know it's not that, but it's still fun to speculate.

Every planet's got two poles, and who knows what's on the other side of Planetos.

You folks did a good job of making me want to read the Ice Dragon, for sure. It sounds up my alley, as well as being interesting in a Homo Erectus skeleton type of way.

0 comments on the main page for a press review episode Maybe I should have had Larry Williams on for that one, he is good for generating comments

Otherwise, after spending hours editing episodes, I hear a lot of complaints about where is X? where is Y? etc.

I just found out that the title for the last episode of the Telltale Games Game of Thrones is "The Ice Dragon". If Adara shows up in this game and saves the fictional Forresters I will lose it.
Although it will be cool to see an Ice Dragon.

In my book travels today I came across a book with what I thought was an Ice Dragon on the cover. Turns out it was. It is "Dragon Blade" by Andre Norton & Sasha Miller. "The Mother Ice Dragon, the fearsome progenitor of her deadly breed, has awakened from slumber to menace the world anew..." It's from 2005, so way after this story came out, but I wonder if this is rare or now that I've read the Ice Dragon I'll be seeing Ice Dragons everywhere.

That cover is causing flashbacks to the Cover Art Critique episode.

Yeah, but is it made of ice? If I learned anything from this episode, it's that there are ice dragons and there are ice dragons...
