All of the episodes before episode 71 of the rss feed have now gone missing from my podcast manager. Yes I can still download them from the website but I used to have them all in one place and downloaded automatically. I think I heard you guys mention something about taking care of the rss feed because it was too big. I anyone else having this problem? Hope you haven't removed the older episodes from the feed, newer listeners to the podcast can't get the old episodes that way. Also, I don't use itunes, so I don't know if that was affected or not. Please bring back the old episodes!

After trying a lot of things to get the thing to work on iTunes store, my conclusion was that the RSS feed was too big. We have 80 episodes after all and while other podcasts have more episodes, we have a lot of detail per episode in our RSS feed. Nothing changed between episodes 77 and episode 78 when the problem first happened, no plugin in changes, no updates, so it seems we hit the limit there.
I didn't have time to do a precise fine tuning so just limited the feed to the latest 10 episodes, which seems to have taken a few days to kick in. Now we shall wait for a few days and see if iTunes store finally updates. After that we can figure out a way to get more of the earlier episodes up there. Note that: All the episodes will always be available for download from the main site - maybe that isn't such a bad temporary thing that will make people visit the site if they want to listen to the earlier episodes.
That is all I can do at the moment: planning, recording, and editing this podcast takes enough of my time and priority, I don't have much time to root around this issue in greater detail and the priority was to get the latest episodes up there.

I was able to put together a scraper using the Feed43 and Feedburner services that will automatically create a feed from the episode list on the downloads page. It should be useful for any podcast manager that lets you manually add a feed. Just point your app to the following URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/apoiafAmin, I'm hoping this doesn't step on any toes. If you feel that it does, though, I'll take it down immediately. EDIT: Actually, it looks like I didn't get it correct for a podcast feed, anway. Oops. EDIT EDIT: Rectified my earlier issue. The feed should now work in your favorite podcast manager.

Well as of Friday today iTunes store finally updated. It only lists the last 10 episodes and in summary form for description, but confirms what I thought, the RSS feed was too big. Also, iTunes store might only be checking/updating the feed once a week which means even if we totally fix this problem there might be up to a 6 day delay for the iTunes store... Don't rely on that for listening to the podcast, instead subscribe to it directly in iTunes or in another RSS reader.
Now I will go back and see if we can fit more than 10 episodes in there. But maybe it is a blessing if the first batch of them aren't on iTunes, as people will probably come to the site if they want to listen to them.

F**k iTunes btw. The only reason I have that crap software installed on my computer is for the good of the podcast... the sacrifices I make...
