Listening to Episode 25 today in traffic when I caught a off hand joke by Mimi during a Chapter reread. The chapter was about Jon and him saving Lord Marmonts life from the wight. Mimi noticed that in here e-reader it read as the crow said "bum" when in fact it said "burn." Mimi went on to say "the crow is a secret Targaryen" and everyone laughed at the obscurity of it all flash to current time and the idea that the crow is in Fact: Brynden Rivers aka "Bloodraven" aka "Three eyed Crow" Mimi was right, the crow is a Targaryen

Being from the land down under, I won't claim to be a secret Targaryen. Clearly, I'm from the bastard offshoot the Blackfyres.

Have we confirmed that Marmot's raven is actually being possessed by Brynden? I know it's likely based on his discourse on controlling crows/ravens and weirwoods in particular, but does he make it irrevocably clear at any point?

Pretty sure Brynden never specifically states he's been warging into Mormont's raven, but the idea makes sense in a lot of ways, and you could probably make a decent argument it's intentionally implied. If true though, could be it's just another fiendishly clever Martin trick, and then the next thing you know, Winds of Winter, Bam! Secret Skinchanger. Probably another targ bastard. Mind: blown. Lord Yellow Snow wrote: ...I guess i will go back in my hole and cry some more Aw, c'mon, that marmot is so cute! Just wook at his fuzzy widdle face, you know you can't stay mad at that. I can't believe he could have possibly meant any offense. But if you insist, (so sorry, I just can't resist) gopher it!

OK lets compile a list of secret Targaryen, to settle this question for all times:
- Jon - Aegon (not so secret any more) - Varys - HotPie - Lord Mormont's raven - The three eyed Crow - Hodor
Who else? And Lord Marmot is sweet.
And regarding the question with Lord Mormont's raven - I think it is one of Bloodraven's most used, but not the only animal. Remember - he is a greenseer and can warg into everything.

But if there is a Link from Longwaters to Elaena - then he does not qualify as secret. Aegon is also no secret Targaryen.

Well this proposed link to Elaena comes from hearsay espoused only by him. Hardly reliable information as Jaime remarks on repeatedly. He's also not actually a Targaryen, if you consider him a Targaryen, then the current members of House Baratheon, Martell, and probably more are also Targaryens, but I was mostly just making a joke.
