:D This topic title surely brings a lot of views.

In episode 89 Mimi defines to "take someone's aSoIaF virginity" by telling all about "R+L=J". I have thought about that today and know exactly who it was for me: Maester Luwin from TotH (Chris Holden) - http://www.towerofthehand.com/essays/ch ... index.html

I remeber that I just read aCoK when I stumbled along TotH and in their FAQ section, after reading the part about Jon's parents I was blown away. I surely had never found that out for myself (at least not before several more rereads).

I wonder if anybody else can remember who told them about R+L=J? And do you like being spoiled by someone else?

I was youtubing and one of the comments was R+L=J. I had no idea what it meant. R+L=J? What the hell does that...oh my fucking God... I reread the series after that, my first reread by the way, and it all made sense. I don't know why I didn't put it together with Arthur Dayne at the tower but... I think the first time you read it all you aren't really thinking, you're just basking in the glory of it all.

I guess that means I took my dad's virginity.

And my mom's. And my sister's.

I actually lost mine to a Forbes review of Season 2 Episode 4/5, because before then I didn't like reading too many of these theories online because it takes away my own discovery.

Oh and to add to the creepy comments above, I took my girlfriend's.

My first theory binge was Master Luwin's FAQ too, including R+L=J. Blew my mind. Shame he fell off the face of the earth.

I took three of my best friends, their girlfriends, and two of their mothers. All at the same time.
Mine was taken by Westeros

I have to say I like how this topic goes on. I think I have to confess that I think I have taken my wife's virginity...

I think Maester Luwin took mine, but I came into the theory thinking I was the first person ever to contemplate r+l=j.
Obviously I was wrong lol.

I took my own R+L=J virginity, at the Tower of Joy. It was my first time, and I was loving and gentle.

But I was only suspicious at that point; it took a reread or two to catch a lot of the clues I'd missed the first time and put most of the pieces together, and eventually the internet helped me with a couple of details and variations I'd missed (& I've been scouring the net for Ice and Fire ever since), but like many others I came up with at least the basic theory from just the books, and I can't say I got spoiled for anything I didn't give myself a more than fair chance to figure out on my own.

Not that I wouldn't have given it up in a heartbeat in the back of just about any Tomard, Dickon, or Harrion fan site's dad's station wagon, had it occurred to me to actually look for fan sites before reading through books 1-4 the first couple of times - Happily, when ADWD finally came along I did manage to deflower my own Theon's flayed wang maidenhead and Jim Levinstein my own Frey pie virginity; but, sadly, that pretty much describes how it happened during the wait with my alchemist=Jaqen virginity, my KotLT=Lyanna innocence, my Renly/Loras epic gaydar fail, the gravedigger, and my many other shocking lacks of knowledge.

That's some impressive self deflowering there! Clearly quite the expert

Podcast of ice and fire took my RLJ card. That is definitely one of the drawbacks of delving too much into a piece of art, especially before it is finished. Anytime you start spending a certain amount of time analyzing, especially in a larger community like the internet, you are going to dig up all the possibilities and also start seeing stuff that isn't there (everything gradually becomes super secret targaryen important). The first few eps I listened to the podcast crew would discuss it and I would not even realize what they were talking about because they alluded to it as common knowledge or already talked to death. When I realized the connection I was totally shocked and I definitely agree that it is probably correct. It made me a little sad that I would miss out on just reading it because I would have been definitey gobsmacked. Then again first time I read the books I didn't even realize Renly and Loras were gay.

My friends who read the books with me in HS and one friend who picked it up after HBO have no idea and I don't think I am going to spoil them.

Now after I re-read the books these past few months it seems so obvious to me the whole RLJ thing. Especially Game of Thrones with all the "promise me, Ned". Mormont's crow is also always calling Jon "king".
