I've got an idea. Stop me if this sounds too crazy, but I think it could be fun. Some of you have been asking for a group sing. Well why don't we make We Wish you a Merry Christmas/We Wish George Would Finish Writing into one. What I'm proposing is that who ever wants to participate records themselves singing the lyrics below and then emails me an mp3 file ( kyle@podcastoficeandfire.com) and I will layer all the audio tracks on top of one another and we'll have a song to send to George. Would this work? I've never tried anything like that. Stop me if you know it's not going to work, but I think it could be something really cool sounding.

OMG!!! That sounds epic! Count me in - but I can only record and save to a wma file is that ok?
Would it be ok to have one person record it so we can all sing at the same cadence?
wma should be fine. I have a converter so it should be good.
That's why I posted the youtube video so everyone could sing along to the same version at the same tempo. My music vocabulary is a bit shoddy though. Perhaps I'm not sure what cadence is. If someone wants to sing a version and put it up so that everyone has some else to sing along with then go right ahead.

Damn this song is a bit harder than I first thought. I've gotten a few files from you guys so far and it sounds great.

It gets tough around the end. the HBO series part is a killer.
In case it helps, here's an edit I just did of the words for my own convenience, showing some stressed syllables in uppercase, the rushed parts with stars, and the drawn-out parts with dashes, and moving the line break before the tricky 'hbo'.
