I remember how happy I was when my parents bought me an encyclopedia set. It meant I could do my assigments at home rather than sitting in the school library.

Started listening maybe a couple months ago. I think I had read something about the podcast from winteriscoming.net or somewhere else but wasn't really interested in podcasts so I didn't pay much attention.

But then last summer I somehow stumbled upon the Boiled Leather Audio Hour and got totally hooked. The only problem was that they are quite slow in making the episodes and don't have much of a back catalogue yet, so I had listened through the episodes really fast. So needing my fix (and Amin having appeared on BLAH and making a pretty good impression) I decided to give Podcast of Ice and Fire a chance.

It really wasn't the same thing, but on another level almost equally enjoyable and most of all fun. By now I think I have listened maybe about half of the episodes. I started from the latest and then advanced on picking episoded here and there on the basis of what seemed most interesting. Now I think should have used some kind of pattern in my listening because now it seems a bit difficult to remember which episodes I have not yet listened...

I started listening to the podcast about a month ago. Was watching random GoT-related stuff on YouTube one night, cast member interviews, Baelor reactions (wish there were more of these), episode recaps, reviews, when I found Ashley's ADWD Reaction videos. Thought she was cute, so I watched them. Then immediately went to Google her, as one does, hoping for a few ex-bf revenge pictures, a low privacy-setting FB account, that kinda thing. Disappointed, I clicked the APOIAF link instead. I was like, alright, guess I'll check this out then. And here I am!

Sorry for the creepiness - just keepin' it real. I'm over Ashley. Good videos though.

Just started listening a month or two ago, I'm still working on catching up to the present. Though I should thank the Podcast of Ice and Fire for making it possible to read through many collections of DNA sequences (it sounds sexy but I assure you it's super boring) at work. There have been many occasions where I randomly snort out a laugh and my co-workers all look at me funny. :D

Hi everyone. I am new to the forums here. I started listening to the podcast this summer once I started getting into podcasts. I have a long commute and local radio is atrocious, so finally I got sick of it and decided to check out podcasts. And when I searched for Ice and Fire podcasts, this was what I found.

I did find another one, though now I don't remember the name of it, and they pronounced the names of the characters all weird which bothered me more than it should of. But aPoIaF has only grown on me since my first download. Great show.

My students told me about the book series, I went on to discover the podcast through iTunes, then eventually ended up telling my students about the podcast!

I'm a business-english language teacher in France and discovered the books during an ice-breaker I do. I ask my students to speak about the english activities they're into and the ASOIAF books popped up with 8 students from almost as many different companies!

I finished ALL the books then went on to listen to the podcast series from episode 30 onward.

I tell my ASOIAF students to listen to the awesome ranting on the podcast to pick up on a few slang/ informal expressions. So far one of them with a good enough level has been able to follow and is hooked!

Just needed to say that I've recently started listening. I've just finished my 4th listen through of roy dotrices audio books of ASOIF and felt the need to branch out into related listening activities.

Began with the latest 15 or so available on iTunes and loved then. Kyle, Amin, Mimi, Ash are all great. Then I tracked down a bunch of earlier episodes and started listening from the start of season of the show reviews.

In the kings road episode I had my first (and only, so far) experience of Chase. to him i just wanted to say 'chillax mate'.

Keep up the good work guys!!

Hi guys! Started listening when you were on episode 2 (Blowing our Loads), while browsing for podcasts related to ASoIaF. Haven't stopped ever since despite the hiatus. Can't believe it is almost 5 years! ;)

Wow - despite the hosts you may be one of the oldest listeners still active here... Great that you are also coming to the boards.

Lol! Dunno what that says about myself - Wish I could pop more often in the forums, but one can only spend so much time online. BTW Brynden, fab job with the stats and really enjoyed listening to your comments in episode 93.

THanks a lot - I really enyoed being on the show. It is a somewhat strange experience (like talking in your favorite radio-show) but it was fun!

Read all the books from May 2012 till December 2012, then watched GoT seasons 1 and 2. Hungry for more on SOIAF and found the podcast. Enjoy the theories, debates and general banter.

I was abroad during season 2 and was hungry for any sort of ASOIAF content at the time in lieu of much to fill my copious hours of free time. After listening to a Boiled Leather episode, I went on a podcast hunt and this one caught my eye first. I've been a convert ever since and have listened to every single episode, many several times.

I find it hilarious that no one on this board has mentioned that they listen to the podcast with friends.

Do people listen to podcasts with friends? I personally wouldn't want people talking over it.

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone listening to podcasts with friends, It seems slightly counterproductive. Either have a fun conversation with your friends or listen the the hosts entertain you. I guess I watch the show with other people, but this feels different somehow.

I also was lucky enough to miss the Great Hiatus by going through old episodes to catch up.
