As always i enjoyed the episode, sometimes its good to have a contrast of episodes that are big and some that are small in terms of hosts.

concerning Dany appearing may too many times in season 2, i think theyre contractual obligations for certain actors to appear in so many eps in the season.

i enjoyed Danys storyline in book 2 , as a short story i think it is enjoyable.

I don't think APOiAF hosts should feel bad about doing the reread so slowly or benchmark themselves to the HBO timetable. A slow reread means we'll be done in about five years which will be perfect timing for Winds of Winter!

Also, it was good to hear about HBO ignoring the podcast, although highly frustrating. ITunes is equally bad. I searched for Game of Thrones, and APOIAF didn't even come up in the podcast suggestions.

Yeah I agree, I don't mind going at a slow pace. The alternative is trying to do more than 2 chapters an episode, which I don't think is a good idea as we don't get the depth of discussion and it is also a pain to read that many each time.

good episode; im glad mimi approved my description of everyone.......... i have several things to say:

-i totally agree with amin that you 4 have the repoire now that any combination would make a good episode.... and that also goes for episode with just kyle and ashley as well. i would rather have more episodes with limited hosts than fewer episodes with all the hosts. you guys have done it enough so that you're all very comfortable with each other and it could work with any combination of you

-mimi YOU ARE the selling point of this podcast........ don't get it twisted.........we dont call you the queen b/c you have nice cleavage.....we do it b/c you are what makes this podcast stand out

-hey mimi you know I love you in a borderline inappropriate way. i would like to respectfully request that you finish watching the rest of season 2. not b/c you have to. but you are the QUEEN OF HOUSE MANWOODY. i think the QUEEN OF HOUSE MANWOODY should not be left in the dark when it comes to the visual representation of the greatest fantasy book series ever. you've already seen at least 4 episodes........it won't kill you to watch the remaining 6 hours of season two....... you def. wont like some of the changes coming up, but you will absolutely LOVE visual representation of the BATTLE OF THE BLACKWATER. as the doctor of house manwoody i would urge you to carve out 6 hours some time in the next few weeks and get it done. it wont kill you. you'll even enjoy some of it. there are many things that i would be interested to hear your take on.. thanks


-amin should def. get alot of credit for moderating the msg boards, organizing and editing the majority of the recent episodes........he does alot of the stuff that goes underappreciated.......... let's face it. if it wasnt for amin we would not have had alot of these episodes.


-i'm totally disappointed in hbo for not showing love to the podcast. its pretty obvious that they want to make 'Thronecast' the official gots podcast which is fine. but thronecast have even admitted that they havent read all the books. you guys have practically done 100 episodes on ASOIAF and should be recognized as the most comprehensive GOTS/ASOIAF podcast out there. i think if you are persistent enough GRRM will come to recognize that you guys aren't jsut one of the other cookie cutter podcasts that have come out since the tv show, but have been around since the mother fucking beginning.

I like the slow re-read. When I read the books on my own, I tend to devour them and miss some of the small details. Reading one or two chapters allows me to digest some of the more subtle connections and nuances that I might have sped past. For example, realizing that the Summer Islander who met Dany also interacted with Sam later on just reinforced for me how intricate the story is. It's experiences like this that make me remember why I loved this story so much in the first place. When I listen to you guys discuss the chapters, I get excited all over again. Keep it up!

first of all - solid episode. good recaps, great insights and overall nice work.

i found mimi's request on sending her if we are into podcasts a bit strange - i like it better when the hosts tell openly what they want. same with the promotion of her friend's podcast - could have been more subtle - invite him as a guest and let him do his own promotion.

why is hbo dictating what grrm is doing? has he also to tell them if he is going to a convention? invite his assistant instead.

Hmm, I don't know. I would rather we promote a friend's podcast at the end of a show than to use an entire episode to bring on a guest host (and use up a guest space) to promote something not related to ASOIAF.

oh, in retrospect, i'm not sure why i didn't point it out. my boyfriend is a software developer, and interested in creating a podcasting platform. we wanted to talk to other podcasters to get an idea of what they like and dislike about the tools they currently use. that's it!
