The chat is ready, Podrick will most likely join at about 10 p.m. central european time (~ 1 p.m. Los Angeles Time). I hope that is ok. My Laptop will then run the whole night for the best of House Manwoody...

Good morning everybody. I just wanted to know everybody's opinion on the chat. Pod told me that there were quite some people there, but not very often at the same time.
So tell me honestly: Does the chat work or not? Hopefully Ep1 was great.

I think the main issue is just that people aren't often on at the same moment due to time zone constraints and as a result, a lot of potential interaction is lost. I'm sorry that I didn't participate much personally, I was having issues watching the show and wasn't able to catch-up with it until much later.

I spent quite a while on there and started out talking to Lady Grey and then after a while Linecom joined me. It was okay, but just 2 people chatting back and forth is only so interesting. It has potential if we got a good group on there, but as it is I was a bit underwhelmed.

I chatted with Jackiedeex, Alias (a little) and Pod. I think it has potential, but I was visiting the forums at the same time and a lot more action seemed to be going on there. If more people dropped in it would be great.

Yeah, I thought when looking at the Join/Leave stats Podrick provides for me that it might have been like that. That all is unfortunate but unless somebody is scheduling some kind of meetup it will be always like that, sorry. Anddue to the fact that I'm sitting in Europe and will likely not watch the series in a while I will not join... @Dickon - that is strange. http://centralchat.net/chat/apoiaf still works for me in FireFox.

brynden is there anyway to set it up so that its kind of like g-chat. where when we go to the apoiaf homepage you automatically login or hide or close the chat option? that would probably work the best even though it might be a lot of work to set up

So you want the option, that there is an automatic chat-window opening somehow that uses your forum-name and if you do not want it you close it? Is that the idea? If yes: That might be possible but would need the change of the code here in the boards (adding some code-snippets into the html) - and I'm pretty sure the admins would not do that (and it can be kind of annoying, therefore I would also not recommend it). If no: Please explain it again. Another thing: In the near future (in about 1-2 weeks) Podrick will become an permanent guest on the chat. I found a solution on how to run him the whole time.

Again - I still try to push the chat a bit. Our little helper-bot Podrick should be now waiting for you 24/7 as he is (finally) situated on his on little machine that I can have running around the clock.
My proposal (still) would be to define a time-slot in which the people try to join. I try to be as often there as possible (during European working hours) but most times it is only Pod and me...

It's been nice having an opportunity to chat while watching the show. It's great seeing people's thoughts while it airs. Thanks for setting it up Brynden.

I've setup an ASOIAF-themed trivia bot with ~300 question, but aiming for +1000, so we don't get repeated questions frequently. Also trying to setup a quote trivia, where people have to guess whose quote was mentioned (inspired from the episode where you made fun of Dotrice). Anyway, if you'd like to contribute with questions or quotes don't hesitate to send me a PM. At some points people will know all the answers, but I'll try to make that happen as late as possible. If you find the answers being incorrect, just query or PM me and I'll rephrase or edit the answers. Feel free to test it. :p
