Its one of the things I geek out about, esp. ancient things, onna bugeisha and maikos. That's why most of my tattoos are japanese themed. The koi signifies strength and perseverence, the waterfall is purity and power, the lotus petals (thats what the geisha has in her hand if I ever get it finished) is a symbol of awakening. And the geisha is there because I think they are amazing strong powerful women that I am absolutely obsessed with. Also I love everything about the flower and willow world.

That is a tramp stamp accuired on one of my many drunken sprees in New Orleans. It will eventually be completely blacked out and covered, but I am good friends with my tattoo artist and he thought it would be funny to add the mystery liquid and then not cover it up until my next session. Havent been back yet because the lower back and side areas hurt so bad that I had to make several stops to dry heave and I have a very high pain threshold.
