Ok, here's the deal with rooming. I just spoke to Ravenwood and they said that they just need a head count per room to work out the breakfast situation. So I put down four people for my suite. They normally charge an extra $15 per person over the 2 person limit, but they said they're not sure if they are even doing that as this is an event, not a normal stay.

They also have five available air mattresses and none have been claimed as of yet, so they can provide those. So once I hear back from Brook and John if they definitely want to stay in my suite I can call back Ravenwood and reserve however many we need. Then I'll let John from Ice and Fire Con know the situation just so he's not surprised by two more roommates.

The person I spoke to also said that there is plenty of room in the suite to fit three mattresses/sleeping bags comfortably. They used to have two full-sized beds, but they took one out and added some settees, chairs and small tables as well.

btw since we got a contingent of listeners coming here, is there any interest in a specific podcast shirt for the event? Publicly sold shirts are still a ways away, but an at cost release of shirts for this event might be possible. Maybe even once a design is confirmed, someone driving can order as a batch and bring them to the event? just gauging interest here, perhaps there is not enough interest.

I was playing around with designing my own and had the idea of making the back like a jersey (sweater for Canadians) with Fourm Name and Member # on it. That was going to be for my own though. An Official one would likely need all the real estate for the necessary podcast elements.

Good ideas here, particularly the limited edition version.

I'll look into potential design options, needs someone to look into the actual purchasing option (where to order them, who can bring them0, assuming more of our group of attendees want to get the shirt and we settle into a design.

Thoughts? Someone better at design can come up with something better I am sure.

I have a good design now in hand that I'll get up here later today. Then I'll just need to know the number interested in this and whether someone is willing to step forward and purchase and bring them to the convention once we knew how many were needed, maybe it would be cheaper if say 5 were bought at one time.

Love the t-shirt idea! We wanted to have Ice & Fire Con shirts this year but didn't get enough interest at the time we needed to order them for it to be worth it, sadly enough. If you haven't decided where to order them from I highly recommend CustomInk; I've ordered shirts from there a couple of times and they do a great job, plus they always ship them like overnight and from what I remember that's included in the price

I like the lemoncake/quite base or the House Manwoody skull. Not sure if the red yes just makes it freaky, but is that from the books? A red-eyed skull? If so the Manwoodys are even more badass than I previously thought.

I just went with a regular cotton t-shirt.

I checked the prices and if we ordered 2 shirts in 4 different sizes (2 Medium, 2 Large, 2 XL, 2 XXL) it would come to $197.60 ($24.70 per shirt). If I made it 5 shirts in each size it only comes down to around $21.00 per shirt, so basically the shirts will be around $25 each. Shipping is free and they would be delivered in 2 weeks. We can pay extra for expedited, but as long as we order them in the next week we don't need to worry about shipping.

I can keep track of who wants what sizes if you want and I can order them. Maybe those interested can pay me through paypal or at Ravenwood and then I can place the order, whichever is easier.

But the design is saved. You can go to the link and edit it and save it as a new design if you want to change anything.

Did we want to add anything specific to Ice and Fire Con as text on the shirts anywhere? I think they look cool and these could be used as those ever-elusive APOIAF t-shirts.

Yeah we should be able to use the ice and fire con logo [ http://www.iceandfirecon.com/images/tem ... anner2.png ] as long as the text is included. Looking into getting the full size image copy if needed, but was thinking a small copy of that somewhere, probably the front, maybe the sleeve/side if possible but don't think that's an option.

We can consider this a trial run of customink, if the shirts turn out good then we will be a step closer to getting official shirts made for general sale.

Is it a lot more expensive to get something other than white? I like that color grey Amin had behind his original images.

I checked a few different shirts and the price does go up by about $5 per shirt for color, but the lemoncake looks weird if its not on white as the frosting becomes the color of the shirt.

Also most of the higher quality shirts have a minimum order of 48 if we use more than 3 colors. The design now uses 3 colors on front and 6 on the back.

I did a quote for 12 shirts of assorted sized and it came out to $25.77 per shirt.

If someone wants to pick out a particular shirt from their list go ahead and let me know, they have hundreds but most require higher minimum orders with the color scheme we have.

Once we finalize a design I'll create a sign-up sheet through customink for the shirt.

If needed, I've linked the original copy of the colour logo for ice and fire con and also a black and white copy - either one if used should include Ice and Fire Con 2014 text along with it if added to a tshirt, as that's part of the requirement for using their logo.

Just a little note but the website address could be useful as well so people who see he shirts could check it out if they don't actually get to talk to you

While it is a good idea promotion wise, I don't really like seeing website addresses on shirts, particularly when the name could be searched anyway (and this is just for the event, where everyone knows each other by the end of the weekend)

If you're happy with the design, you may finalize the design and see how many people sign up for it.

I just changed the color. There are more colors available assuming we order at least six shirts which I think we will. Yellow is the only one we can do since the lemoncake takes on the color of the shirt. I think it looks good. I can keep it white if you prefer, but I think the yellow works well.
