oh LORD.

technically called ger in mongolian (which means home), it's a house that is commonly erected by mongolian nomads (cue somebody LOLing at "erected"). in turkish, it's called a yurt, and that's become the common terminology.

in mandarin chinese, it's referred to as a mongu bao. mongu is mandarin for mongolian, and bao actually refers to a steamed bun. apparently, mongolian dwellings resemble food.

I realize I am not giving you a specific episode(s), but years ago you guys had an episode where you talked about how ridiculous it would be if the HBO series came out before Dance, and someone added that it would be even more hilarious if Duke Nukem Forever also came out first.....well here we are.

It's those acting chops dude. Definitely took chapter rereads to a whole other level. Especially Maester Cressen's bit. "Oh God's My Hip!"
Great shit man.

Also loved the very beginning of Guy's Night Out V2. Especially Lommy Greenhands.

Long road yet time flew by, has been reading old posts of WiC, where Phil talks about doubting GoT would be able to cast Dinklage and if they would call the show A Song of Ice and Fire or Game of Thrones.

So I started plowing through the early episodes before I came over to the forum, but maybe I can contribute a few things to this thread as I continue, starting with:

---Episode 18: Lesbians and dongs---

28-32', Mimi has a little boy fetish, but only dates old dudes

35:55, regarding Sarah Jessica Parker:
Mimi: "I can't see her as anything other than Carrie Bradshaw."
/me thinks "I can't see her as anything other than a horse!"
Chase: "I can't see her as anything other than a horse."
/me starts dancing around like Rocky victorious in a fight while Mimi protests

1:18:38 An actual creaking door!

1:37:53 Chase and Amin Littlefinger Sansa

No worries! I barely remember being on it myself, seeing as how it was 4 in the morning and I was a little tipsy at the time... but I agree, that show was kinda awesome.

Huh? What are you talking about?

Can someone explain the Darkstar joke to me? I can't remember what episode it was but there was a continuing joke about how lame of a character Darkstar was.

-) Great chapter reviews by Kyle (John deserting, King of the north)
-) Great prophecies by all podcasters about Johns possible future (some of them fit quite well to ADWD)

Hey all. New to the forums, I have spent the last two months listening to all of the podcasts while working my boring as hell job.

I just have to put in, when Mimi said Harry Lloyd's dick must be made of Candy and Rainbows, I laughed my ass off. Great stuff.

hey mimi chris amin chase nancy and various ashleys , thank you for your podcast , I absolutely love it.I picked up a game of thrones about 4months ago and half way thru had to order the box-set as I hated the idea of having to wait for the next installment. Have now read all the books but have yet to see the tv show. I have started listening to your fine podcast from ghost cow onwards to feed my hunger for westeros until the wind of winter , so I am kind of in the same position as you were when you started when you were waiting for "dance". I have decided to not watch the tv show until I reach that point in the podcast when you all got to see it. I wanted to follow your re read but have lent both my copies of GoT out wanting as many people as poss to share the magic of westeros, (my brother and dad are now also hooked). Very much enjoying the banter ,enthusiasm, discussions and theories in the podcast, and loving the creaking door in sound and metaphor.Btw this is my first ever forum contribution of any kind as I am not really a computer guy, but I am so exited about this series , I want to tell the world about it. I am trying to find my way into some of the forums, but there are so many it's a bit daunting, I don't know where to start. Thanks again , jed

Hey Jed welcome. It's great to have you here. We've been on a bit of a hiatus so it's a great time to catch up.

I agree with you. A lot of the other forums are daunting and intimidating. We here at APOAIF are a lot more easy going and laid back then some other places I've come across so don't be afraid to join in on conversations. And don't be afraid to get something wrong here. No one gets more wrong than me and they haven't run me out of town yet. haha.

-Episode 49: Girls' Night Out.
Towards the end, the "desert scenario with the guys" is discussed. Amin's headband is put forward as a makeshift bra.
-Also, one of the later HBO's GoT review episodes:
Suddenly... (rough approximation ahead)
Mimi: Stop it, Chase! I swear I'll hang up on you!
Chase: Stop what??
Mimi: Those skeptical noises you're making in your corner!
-I agree with the poster that said "botched introductions". All Hail Chase's awkward delays! :p

P.S. Echoing Temmo, I'm curious about what Mimi's name translates to as well :)

Why you should hate Chris and set him on fire =D

Also a mash of every time the word "extrapolate" is used. The prophecy and what-if episodes are goldmines.

I loved it when Larry was on and him and Mimi were arguing about Pokemon... had me in stitches.

I just wanted to thank you all at a Podcast of Ice and Fire; and curse the lot of you too. Anyone else here been listening to these guys in public and started laughing, only to be looked at as though you've got the most deformed Manwoody hanging from your forehead?

Seriously, Mimi, Amin, Kyle, Ashleys, Nancy, guest hosts and former hosts - thankyou. You're awesome.

Sorry if this one has been pointed out yet, I haven't read the entire topic yet. If it has, here is a vote from me for a place on the "Best of."

Episode 14: Racy
Time: 45:19 - 48:ish

The whole conversation with Mimi and Ashley about how Sansa gets off too easy in the books for all the stupid shit she's done. I especially like when Mimi seems genuinely disappointed that Sansa has only been beaten by the guards and not raped yet.

Six Thing I Hate About Chris.... epic. Seriously had me crying in laughter; listened to it over and over. The end of Girls Night Out 1.
