I noped right out of that click so fast. I think you guys are selling yourselves short. I really enjoyed the episode, despite the shocking lack of human biology knowledge. I definitely heard the epic music in my head when Ashley's voice first appeared.

I was so happy to hear everyone together (especially Mimi and Ashley). It feels like listening to old friends (probably creepy because you guys don't know me but whatever). Stop putting yourselves down I enjoyed it I don't know what to do about the show either ... I will probably reevaluate after the end of this season and see what's happening on TWOW progress. I'm choosing to believe GRRM is stashing pages away from his editor and there is a lot more of the book done than what his editor says. Maybe I'm being hopelessly optimistic - the only reason I want him to release it soon is because of the show catching up. Next year is looking increasingly unlikely though.

Also I had no idea Elliot Rodgers explictly mentioned ASOIAF in his manifesto (I haven't read it because it would probably upset me too much tbh). I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this earlier considering all the controversy surrounding Game of Thrones lately and ASOIAF by association. This is probably not the best place to have this debate about this kind of serious topic but ... very disturbing.

Titty babies, awkward silences, and Kyle has a face for podcasting. It's great to hear you guys all back together! And there should've been a drum roll before Ashley signed on

So glad to have the crew back. Also I thought the fandom had exhausted the possibilities of Daario theories. But there's always room for one more...Kyle is Daario. That settles it.
I also completely missed Sebastian Eater of Eyes and the Garden of Gehane. So much dragonback magic hints going on.
Also this was maybe the most nostalgic I've felt listening to a podcast. It was so nice laughing out loud to the jokes, bugs, jibes and everything.
Beautifully disgusting indeed...in a good way.

I love Ashley's 'it's not as bad as season 2'. High praise! I hope she's there for the rest of the rest of the episode reviews, mainly because she most closely resembles my feelings on the show. I don't hate it enough to stop watching like Mimi but I have huge issues.

Yess! I'm glad we're not the only ones to start random arguments about Victarion. Shellfish wrote: "I'm a fucking knight, I don't paint ships!" I automatically read this in Peter's voice. Anyways, it was great to hear you all together again

So much grinning and giggling!! Great episode, so wonderful to hear the whole crew together after so long. I mean, I've enjoyed Amin and Kyle and the great rotation of guest hosts, but the four of you together are so special!

I had to pause the episode on the discussion of the Q and A with Anne Groehl. It's fine, if you click through and read the whole Q and A, it's clear that the 168 pages isn't a thing. She doesn't expect Martin to be sending her anything until the book is done, that's her normal method of working which she describes a bunch in the Q and A.
Either Kyle or whoever quoted it on Tower of the Hand cut off that the 168 pages was just a contracted thing he had to send in to get paid.

Finished now and that was a joy and delight to hear, the four riding again. Ms Paint peeps should immortalize this episode.
Plus, when the four are together, Amin gets filthier and hence "Seamen from hundred nations." (Kyle: You beat me to it)
And, Dr. MeMo's knowledge was only lacking because the poison that Oberyn slipped Tywin (I hope this theory is true so much) is magical and doesn't exist in the real world.
The story of fucking beetles was priceless, too. Are Kyle and Mimi possible separated at birth siblings? It's like something I'd have done to my sister.
Edited to add: I think Martin's absolutely going to drop some POVs in Winds. Theory: if your chapters had titles, rather than your name at all times, you're not a core character who he's going to continue to use. So, Barristan, Asha, Jon Connington, you're all done. Probably the Damphair, too.

It was great to hear the crew back together!
I doubt Melisandre will be dropped as a POV. She is the only one at the Wall right now and will probably be the viewpoint for the chaos that occurs after Jon's death.

Quote: I doubt Melisandre will be dropped as a POV. She is the only one at the Wall right now and will probably be the viewpoint for the chaos that occurs after Jon's death. Seems sensible. I disagree with the apparent consensus among the Four that she knows too much to be a POV. I think we saw in Dance how little she actually knows about anything. She's got power, but it doesn't equate to clear knowledge so I don't fear that she's going to spoil too much for me. She thinks Bloodraven is Red Ralloo's Satan, etc. Maybe she'll be the prologue and realize that she's made a terrible mistake about her Azor Ahai identification and do some kind of big mojo to save Jon Snow.

I agree that she doesn't know too much to be a POV as she's already been one and we only got to see a little bit behind the curtain. No major spoilers, just hints as to her methods and her past. But I don't think she'll be the prologue in Winds. For the first five books the prologues have all been previously non POV characters and also they all died in said POVs (Will, Cressen, Chett, Pate & Varamyr). Although Chett technically didn't die at the end of the SOS prologue it's assumed he died very shortly thereafter.
