Feel like some listeners need to read (or reread) this viewtopic.php?f=3&t=861

I was a little late getting to listen to this one due to *cough* a 2 and a half hour WolfCast *cough*. I really enjoyed how Amin & Kyle had different reactions to a lot of the stuff, particularly the Sansa reveal. I also thought Amin brought up a good point by asking would you not like it if Arya and Sansa actually met. I'm sure we all have a point of no return where if they break a major thing from the books we would stop watching or truly table-flip and that would be it for me.
But at the same time part of me thought they would have run into huge problems with some of the changes that they've made, but they have found ways around most of them.
And nice job on the whole Beetle prediction. I'm trying to think whatever topics you all have focused on recently that will now crop up in the tv show.

The reason I would table flip if Arya and Sansa met is because it completely undermines Arya's reason to go to Braavos. Arya gets on that ship because she literally has no other option and no family left as far as she knows. Arya asks the man on the ship to take her North so she can go to Jon Snow but he refuses.
It's the same reason I would have flipped out if Jon met Bran and knew for sure he was alive. It completely undercuts the emotional stakes in Jon's decision to refuse legitimisation and Winterfell (and some of that has been taken away anyway but I digress ....)
I seriously doubt they would do that anyway. As much as I would love Arya and Sansa to meet again it would undermine both of their storylines going forward.

Except if she makes a conscious choice to leave or maybe they don't immediately recognize each other with sansa's hair dyed and Arya looking the way she does after this long journey. maybe they just see each other in passing without even really looking atc each other, which would be a great irony. A for the Bran and Jon thing, lots of people say it was filler because they didn't meet up and hence there was no real consequences coming out of that subplot(even though Bran abused his powers with Hodor, Jojen is likely to be in flames when he dies and Craster's Keep is destroyed). I'm sort of holding out for Rast not being dead but wounded so that once Jon goes to treat with Mance we see that Mance found out about their numbers anyway.

I think the stuff at Crasters will have implications going forward (especially with the Hodor/ Bran stuff) but I don't think it was well executed. I feel the same about the Yara stuff. We get the payoff from that scene of realising just how far Theon has turned into Reek but the scene itself was poorly edited/ directed.

Yeah but that sort of thing can be corrected in the future. They have made up, scenes before that were well-done.

As long as it helps to get us where we need to go in terms of plot/ character I can generally overlook it. If that scene means we're getting a Kingsmoot next season then I'm not going to complain too much. I generally feel like I understand why they make certain changes - sometimes it's a hit, sometimes it's a miss. As much as I complain most of the time I can convince myself to get on board with it and roll with it.

Hey, I maybe new but I'm told that's the way we role on Wolfcast oh and btw we were closer to 3 and a half on the recording! That wasn't a complaint. I thoroughly enjoy the various 'casts that have sprung up this year. I sometimes feel bad that I don't get to listen to APOIAF until I listen to the other casts since they usually drop first. And I enjoyed your inaugural appearance on Wolfcast. You are a welcome addition to a crew of madmen and madwomen...and Nadia.
