So there is no presale for last years attendees, only the first year?

claudius, yes that is what they said on the ice & fire con fb group. That since the 2013 attendees first supported them they get first dibs. It sucks cause getting tickets/rooms is stressful, but I'm thinking most of those ppl will room together in the silversmith and other cottages so there should be plently of room for the rest of us.

Ran into Tara, the con organizer at Dragoncon, she confirmed the info Amin posted. I'm going to drop my name into the roommates list, as it'll be my first year and I'm flying solo, I'd rather room with someone more experienced rather than book my own room.

Interested in doing jerseys this year instead of a tshirt? Price will be more expensive at $30-$40 depending on how many we do, but if you were there last year you can see that the quality is quite good (Baratheon jersey) and you can wear them a lot. Looks like they are going to do "Real Martell" this year which I'm tempted to get in on, but I suppose I can justify buying both that and an APOIAF one.

I would love a House Manwoody/APOIAF jersey. I also plan on getting both and if we get a decent amount of people the price shouldn't be too bad.

I am not really a jersey guy. But since I think matching Manwoody plaid flannel shirts is unlikely, I'd participate.

Hey everyone! I can now say I am officially going to the con since I jumped on the Fundraising Package that was listed on the FB group and the site. I have GREs on the day that gen tickets go on sale and went through a ton of stress last year trying to get tickets/room so I figured this way I can relax and already have room. Plus the early access to tickets/booking for 2016 is a pretty good deal as well. I'll be in the Queen Victoria with my boyfriend Brian (a sometimes listener). See you all there!

Yeah, I'm glad i didn't know about those special packages as I would have spent too much money on them.

Hopefully I'll still get a castle suite. Last year I just called Ravenwood once my ticket confirmation went through and they still have 4 or 5 castle suits available.

I just checked Ravenwood's accommodation listings on their site and it looks like all the rooms for those days are blocked out. I assume that's because they can be rented for Ice and Fire Con attendees? I hope that doesn't mean they are all booked already.

Amin, did you already book the Rapunzel suite or are you planning to? B/c I thought you couldn't book your room until October when the tickets go on sale.

Yeah its blocked out so no one else outside of the con can book them for that weekend. I would assume that Amin (like the other 2013 attendees) were already able to book their rooms and buy tickets (since they have the advantage). I also really just wanted a castle room since i would feel weird having even a small cottage to myself. And im not interested in the long walk to the cabin either.

So hopefully I'll be able to get a castle room. I'm basically gonna try to reserve any suite other than the Shakespeare so I can maybe get some sleep. So once it's booked I'll see who needs a room mate. I can easily take 1 or 2 people.

These are the rooms still open at the moment (some of the taken ones may have room for roommates). If you get ticket and rooms on Oct 18, should be able to get something, but will fill up quickly that day.

Anyone know specifically what time tickets go on sale on Saturday? I just saw the date on their website, but they didn't say at what time. I know there are only a few castle rooms left and I want to try to get one as soon as tickets go on sale.

It was noon last year, but I don't know.

Ok. I got my ticket and booked the King's Gypsy Wagon. There were no more castle rooms left by the time I called. But at least I'll be on site.

Of course. Let me know if you want to room with me. I asked Ravenwood and they said it sleeps up to four "comfortably". I'm just waiting to hear back from my brother to see if he plans on going before settling the roommate situation.

Yeah I assumed I'll split with someone so I didn't book a room. Worse comes to worse I can go off-site, but definitely not my preference.

I'd advise making every effort to stay on site.

Yes, highly recommended you join a group in the castle or the wagons. Go on the Ice and Fire con facebook group and start looking.

The wagons are good in that they are very nearby and cheap, and you can go to sleep earlier if you want. It is basically just a big single room where you can sleep, fits 2 easily, but there is room for 4 to sleep since there is an upper level. No beds or bedding so need to bring your own mattress and blanket and or sleeping bag.

Think small dorm room for the wagon. I don't see it fitting 4 men, 3 more like and you won't want to just hang out there, but you really don't do any room con at ravenwood

Yeah when I called they said it "sleeps" 4, but from the pics it looks pretty small. Also I wasn't sure about a bathroom, but apparently it is an outhouse situation. So yeah...yay?
