Tom 162 wrote: I liked David's assessment of Tywin's attitude toward whores -- that it's OK to use them, but not to fall in love with them. It fits with most of the rest of his character. What I still don't quite get is why he'd associate with Shae. His treatment of her contrasts strongly with his treatment of Tysha. Both were women Tyrion got overly attached to, but the one who was already a whore got the privilege of wearing the Hand's bling, instead of being handed over to the troops. I theorize that Shae was planted by Tywin to spy on Tyrion. Which means they had some kind of special, twisted relationship.

How is or isn't Bronn involved in this?

How is or isn't Bronn involved in this? Tywin could've told Bronn to bring Shae to Tyrion.

If Bronn is bought why would Tywin need Shae?

Other things that got me thinking that way was the questionable story of how Bronn found her, she seemed to ignore the question at first and then her answer was def not very clear (can't remember exact quote, but something like a servant or soldier of a lesser lord). She also is always asking to go to court, which could be that she just wants to mix with the highborn lords & ladies and feel like she's one of them, but makes me think that she wants to spy on what's going on and is working for Tywin.

The book that David Peterson mentioned comes out next week. Anyone else planning to get it? I've got an early copy and it's pretty nice. There's an audio CD that has three lessons; Pronunciation, Basic Expressions and Grammar. There is a short paperback guide that comes as a companion to the CD. There's also a section in the book for exercises and practice. There are some modern expressions as well. My favorite so far is "Dothras check" (Be cool)
