Episode 117: An Intimate Evening

Episode 117 for the week of September 1st, 2013, in which we definitely ignore the fact that this episode is being released late in order to continue our A Clash of Kings chapter re-read. We cover chapter 33 (Sansa III), and do an impromptu excerpt review of “The Princess and The Queen, or, The Blacks and The Greens,” George R.R. Martin’s new short story in the upcoming anthology Dangerous Women– Kyle’s heavy breathing specifically designed to set the mood for an intimate podcasting evening.

Great episode! I loved the Targaryen family tree discussion. You guys have to do a full episode on the Princess and the Queen when it comes out. I’m already looking forward to it.

It’s funny that Mimi hasn’t met GRRM or any of the podcast hosts.

Also, you guys need to watch Rome! Closest thing HBO has done to GoT. You might like it even more, since there’s no books to flip tables about.

Didn’t know about the excerpt from the Princess and the Queen. Thanks! Very interesting. I’ve been reading some British history lately (specifically about the Plantagenets), and this excerpt sounds very similar to how the English civil war between Stephen and Matilda began in the 1100s. Aside from the dragons, of course!
