Episode 21: The Lost Episode
Episode 21 (recorded ages ago) for the week of March 22nd, in which we visit the five-chapter-reread format for the last time for chapters 41-45 of A Game of Thrones. Originally, roughly half this episode was dedicated to trying to force Chase to recite the Pokérap (he declined), but we’ve pared it down for your listening pleasure. Our guest host this episode was Robb.
Note: On top of being lost and severely delayed, this episode also has some major technical issues after the hour mark. Somehow in random patterns, everyone’s individual audio seems to overlap, lag, and speed up oddly which results in several bursts of chaotic talking. We normally do interrupt each other a lot, but not to this extent. Sorry for the confusion!

i think the truly tragic part about having to cut out so much in this episode was the fact that i had to remove my story about how i took a homeless guy to my homecoming dance.

Rob has a sexy voice! He reminds me of my guy.
I don’t think that Tysha was willing but I am not sure that Tyrion was remebering it correctly. The human memory isn’t very accurate and Tryion was very emotionaly at the time.
If Cat kills Cat then I could forgive her
As closes here to age 16 Dany is not a dumb person. She is emotional and if she is a little messed up she has 300 years of inbread crazyness and a misscarge.
Sansa is a normal 12 year old girl and what she does is perfectly logical for her age. I remember going after a guy who treated me like crap and I was able to push that away. She would have been at home in 1984.

Have any of you heard of/read the Westeros High roleplay on livejournal? It’s highly entertaining.

“…die and bring back Beric Dondarrion”
Hey! Not appreciating all this Catelyn hate.
She’s one of the most amazing and diverse characters in the series. At least now we can follow Undead-Catelyn around, whereas Beric (as awesome as he was) was just a peripheral character.
Believe you me Catelyn will get up to some incredible shit – for sure! I’d join her posse!

The only good thing that ever happened to Catelyn was Beric breathing life into her bloated and twisted form. Now she’s not a self possesed whiny bitch. I agree that she should bring back Beric 🙂

Hey guys, awesome job … haven’t heard the other episode yet but this one made my morning commute that much sweeter..
About what you guys discussed this chapter…
Sansa/Being a Bitch – one explicit example is how she makes it a point to always call Jon her “HALF brother” to reinforce his bastard status. Its true, and she gets it from her mother but it still makes her a bitch.
Why did Tysha take the money – I guess you guys were coming at it more from a modern perspective where we tend to think of all people as more or less equal and concepts like human dignity apply to all.
In a feudal setting such as ASoIaF, the “smallfolk” neither expect nor are accorded the same status as “real” people for want of a better term.
Yeah she just got raped and whored out, but being a crofters daughter she probably expected it was her lot in life anyway, and, besides a few gold coins is more money than she would see in her life – certainly worth a lot more to her than a non-existent sense of honor.
Another example would be what happened at Darry – Ned and co. certainly seemed much more upset about Lady’s death than Micahs – it was accepted by all and sundry that the high lords were within their rights to murder the butcher’s son if they felt like it.

I thought you guys struck a powerful subject regarding the morals of the Kingsguard and I think it deserves more discussion!

Agreed! Anything regarding the Kingsguard and how it’s devolved is worth mentioning. I mean by the time Feast for Crows sets in, the most useful member of the Kingsguard is Loras, which is sad. And Barristan the Bold being evil? Come on. That’s not a real crackpot theory, lol.
This was a great episode, with a lot less technical difficulty than I expected after reading that note. Rob is an awesome guest host, you guys should have him back again. Are Amin, Chris and Aaron no longer on the podcast, then?

Were you not listening to the same podcast that I was? Amin was definitely there.

I also wanted to point out…
Varys’s ‘mummery’ allowed him to have stubble, he is a eunich. Eunich’s can’t have stubble. I think it’d be pretty difficult for a mummer to duplicate that.
Just something that leads me to agree with the Varys is a faceless man theory, not the whole faceless man overthrowing the government and bringing down the wall and serving the others junk.

First, it is now obvious that you should not edit the podcasts.
Second, I have written a short play to answer all your questions about how a hypothetical meeting between Tyrion and Dany should go. It’s at

Mimi is so hot. I saw a picture of Robb once too, and he’s also so hot. And a snappy dresser.
