There was so much I had forgoten about. I wanted to thank you guys again. You really were the kindest people to work with. I was really scared but you didn’t make me feel stupid.
I’m just happy that I don’t sound like as much of an idiot as I thought I did. Thank you Ashley

YES! Mimi I agree with you completely. Tyrion does only want the best for every situation. He is a positive character. If he is going to the “dark side” he has a little bit of the right to fter learning about Tysha and being accused of killing Joff.

The doors of 2 different colors are just like the doors Bran goes through under the wall.

Cool episode.
Thinking on it now, Sansa is pretty retarded. I have to agree with Mimi. What she did was unforgivable. She should’ve known that keeping her mouth shut was important.
The small council discussion was great. Getting a good combo of people was hard, but here are my choices since john put up his.
Hand: Tywin (he is too rich and controls too many troops to not be)
Grandmaester: Aemon (for a little while at least)
Coin: Littlefinger (too good at his job)
Whisperers: Varys (ditto)
Laws: Stannis (even though I’ve never heard of this position, Stannis being a hard-ass would probably make him good at this)
Ships: Davos
City Watch: Bronn
Lord Commander: Barristan
I had almost forgotten wom. Thanks.

sorry, i really just can’t hold the downfall of house stark at the feet of a 11/12 year old heavily sheltered girl. if that’s all it took to screw over Ned, then it’s really not saying much about him now is it.

Ned definitely made some major mistakes himself. I don’t think Sansa single-handedly destroyed House Stark–Robb and Catelyn did their share too.
I expect Sansa’s guilt/innocence will be argued again once you guys get toward the end of AGoT.

mimi, your last coment on the podcast was that tyrion didn’t look like the rest of his family but that was not quite right. He actually looks like Tommen. Tommen has white-blond hair insteed of golden blond like his siblings. they also describe tyrion with white-blond hair
sorry for being nit picky

I swear I said something about Tommen’s hair being white blonde while we were recording. 🙁

If Sansa was not the way she was we’d never have gotten to hear Littlefinger’s quote, “Life is not a song sweetling, someday you may learn that to your sorrow.”
BTW, you guys realize that as far as the books go, Sandor Clegane has spent more time with Sansa and Arya than Eddard and Catelyn combined?

Ashly 2 you probably did and I probably missed it.
Anonymous has a good point. Some of us may not like Sansa but she really needed to be there.I love that quote.

Hi,
Great show. Any chance you can give a fuller summary of the chapter before you go on to talk about it. I’m only talking a minute or two but I’m not rereading at the same time so it will help refresh my memory

Sansa didn’t cause House Stark’s downfall. Ned did. So did Robb.
(ducks as rocks come flying at my head)
Yeah, I’m not a Ned fan. Not that he was a bad guy, but he made some pretty stupid decisions. He should have thought ahead, he was way too focused on his honor, and didn’t look at the big picture.
Sansa really stupid in trusting Cersei, but she was never trying to betray her father. Like Chris said, I think it was Chris anyway – Sansa was just trying to smooth things over, but definitely ignored the seriousness of the situation because she was just freaking immature. She was “wet with love” for Joff, and extremely sheltered. It wouldn’t have made a difference if Ned had sat her down and told her the whole situation… she was too set in her ways and didn’t want to lose her betrothal. That’s all she could think about. She’s dumb, yeah, and at some point I’d really like for her to own up to what she did. She seems to have forgotten about the whole ordeal.
That aside, I love that you guys made up your own fantasy small councils. My Hand is a tie between Tyrion and Tywin. I can’t decide just because Tywin is obviously the man, has lots of experience, is well respected, resourceful, etc…yet as a Lannister, he can’t really be on anyone’s team. There is ONLY team Lannister as far as all of them are concerned.
Tyrion is intelligent, resourceful (what happened to his Mountain Clan buddies? lol), not to mention that he’s the only person in all of Westeros who gives a crap about whats going on beyond the wall! And he digs dragons.
I don’t know about the rest of the council, but my concubine(s) would be Asha and Taena Merryweather. At the same time.
Great podcast!

I don’t think Bran really wanted to see/watch what Cersei and Jaime were doing. He realized he most likely was going to make noise and attract their attention. As he was trying to swing away, he saw them and then Cersei saw him; I don’t really think Bran couldn’t tear his eyes away, he just didn’t have enough time to bring himself away from the window before Cersei saw him. He knew he wasn’t supposed to be hearing or seeing what he heard and saw.

Just a note that Ned did NOT defeat Mr. Dayne in single combat, it was 3 Kingsguard vs 7 Starks, and only Ned and Howland survived.
