Episode 30: Sweet Dornish Honey
Episode 30 for the week of October 5th (but released eight years later!), in which we embark on the first of our two-part Dunk & Egg special. ย Here, we spend two hours poring over GRRM’s first Dunk & Egg novella, The Hedge Knight, discussing Chase’ resemblance to Daeron Targaryen, and various other things I forgot because this was recorded so long ago.
Spoiler warning: For those of you who have not read the Dunk & Egg stories, this episode (and the next) will obviously be full of spoilers and life-ruiners.

Nice timing, made the all-nighter I just pulled significantly less painful. Though I’ll have to play it through while I am not designing circuits. But it sounded great from what I paid attention to, you guys are like GRRM: consistently awesome but frustratingly infrequent.

Just general curiosity, How do you all know that Egg is Robert, Renly, & Stannis’s Great-Grandfather? I don’t remember reading anything about Steffon’s mother of lineage. Was a really cool fact! I love all the background on characters & lineages.

Chip, it was in either AGoT or ACoK that Rhaelle Targaryen (Egg’s only daughter) is revealed to be Steffon’s father (evidently Rhaelle married an unnamed Baratheon Lord).

How about that Sworn Sword episode then? It would be good timing if you could record that in the next month or so, because the third instalment in the Dunk & Egg saga (The Mystery Knight) is due out in mid-march.
