I was taking a plane back to the States the night you guys recorded. Man! What a sausage fest! Ashley couldn’t stem the tide by herself. Football???? Was there actually fantasy football talk on this podcast??? Where’s Mimi and her Pokemon?

isn’t the hound dead? because everyone was talking about him like he’s still alive.

There’s a very popular theory that he is still alive and showed up in Feast.

I’m an irregular listener, so you guys might have covered this already, but just in case you haven’t – I’d like to hear your thoughts on the options for Sandor’s return to the narrative.
I keep thinking that he’d be a great choice for a champion of the faith at Cersei’s trial, a chance to reunite with his brother… but the timing would be off, since he’s 1) still in recovery and 2) unknown to the priesthood at King’s Landing unless the silent monks’ve already revealed his secret identity.

I know we’ve (coughashleycough) talked a lot about the Hound but the idea of him coming back as a champion of faith and battling his brother that was is pretty interesting. You’re right the timing is a bit off, but thats still an exciting idea.

You guys keep going back to that whole Brandon issue. I find it strange, why does Brandon has to be either a “douche bag” or a “decent guy”? why cant he be…both? Martin has shown us over and over again that people are complex, and far from black or white.
You argue that it is impossible for him to be a douche (i.e. have sex wish Ashara) because of Ned’s respect for him. but we meet Ned 15 years after these evants and Brandon is now dead. even if Brandon did hurt Ned in the past people tend to forgive their loved ones when they pass. besides Ned does not cross as the kind of person who holds a grudge. i mean he did not have the same blind hatered towards the Targeryns and they killed his father, brother and were responsible for the death of his sister…
anyway i hope i was able to get my point across, maybe i’ll write a better explained argument on the forum…

Josh Dolgin, Warden of the North
You guys were talking about your A Podcast of Ice & Fire fantasy teams. I have a question…..so who owns James Starks and Danarius Moore? I feel like those are the two players to have in this league. Oh and that bastard Philip Rivers. Maybe Shaun Hill and Tony Pike would be fun to own too, but they don’t actually get you points.

Also – I don’t think it is a coincidence that Starks plays in the North, Danarius is a “burner” and Rivers is kind of an asshole aka bastard.

LOL Whenever I watch football with my wife we always pick out the “bastard” names and the names that sound like GRRM made up.

I don’t really agree with Amin’s assessment of the Prince of Nothing series. SPOILERTH Assuming the victorious douchebag you refer to is Kellhus I do not see how one could argue that the series ends on a sour note. Sure, Kellhus is a manipulative bastard, but he is pretty much mankind’s only hope for surviving the Second Apocalypse. His ascension to the top of the food chain was predictable from the first appearance of his character, but it was also thrilling to watch. Besides, there are plenty of moments in which the good guys gain the upper hand in the books. Drusas Achamian escaping the Scarlet Spires and generally kicking ass, Scoitha killing Moenghus, Esmi rising high despite her most humble of beginnings…the list goes on.
