Episode 134: FFG A Game of Thrones Card Game Interview

Episode 134 for the week of February 16th, in which we interview Damon Stone (Game Designer) from Fantasy Flight Games (FFG). We chat about FFG’s A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, as well as ASOIAF and other geeky topics.

Notes:  As usual, this episode has spoilers for all five books in George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire and all aired episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones. The rules for the card game can be found at FFG’s online tutorial, including video instructions.

Really excellent interview by Amin and inkasrain!
Doesn’t hurt that Damon was a really interesting guest. Anybody that starts by discussing D&D alignments has my heart and mind.

Nice job. I’ve heard Damon on another podcast before & he seems like a pretty cool guy. Nice to know he’s a long-time fan of George.

    Very fun and interesting interview!

As a recovering Magic player the idea of LCGs sounds fun. I will be on the lookout for the game.

It is amazing that Damon was an Alpha and Beta player! As a Fifth Edition player that is really cool.

I enjoyed that quite a lot! Damon was a fantastic guest and I was very interested in what he had to say.

I noticed that there are 4 other Damon’s in the books. I wonder if they’ll make their way into the card game along with Dance-For-Me and Marbrand! 😉

Hats off to Amin & Michal too!

Great episode. Pretty sure one of my questions was used. My cats think I am a celebrity now!

Damon was an excellent guest and I really enjoyed the interview. Having played the card game a couple of times I found the interview really useful as well for what to buy etc.

  6. Great work Amin and Michal. Probably won’t be playing the card game anytime soon, but Damon was just an interesting guest in general. Humanities FTW! 😉

I should have submitted a question asking about House Arryn. They had their own expansion in the CCG (House of Talons) but appear to have fallen off the face of the Earth in the LCG.
