Episode 170: High Sparrow
Episode 170 for the week of April 26th, in which we review the third episode in the fifth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. We are joined by returning guest host Aziz from History of Westeros.
Notes: Like almost all episodes of APOIAF, this episode has spoilers for all published books in George RR Martin’s ASOIAF series. This week’s episode was salvaged from two different recordings.

My theory about Littlefinger’s plan was that he drops off Sansa in the North to work on Ramsay and later comes back to get rid of Roose. If he thinks Sansa is his puppet now, and she controls Ramsay, then Littlefinger basically owns the North.

Aziz’s comment about how Jon’s end might be handled on the show kinda blew my mind where he mentioned Jon getting stabbed and his eyes closing and then Ghost’s eyes opening with the wargy whites showing. I think that would be less ambiguous than the books but I really like it.
Also, Kyle was questioning the High Sparrow mentioning that the Sparrows were too rough with the knife or something like that. I think he was just being figurative, not referencing them actually cutting the High Septon or anything.
Great episode, I love it when these two podcasts come together (insert inappropriate joke here).

It’s weird that they’re not setting up the deal about Arya and Jon’s ability to warg at all.
I was hoping that when Melisandre told Jon to “embrace” his power, it would hint at him warging into Ghost or something.
