Episode 36: Feathered Hat
Episode 36 for the week of January 23rd, in which we sort of review chapters 60 and 61 of A Game of Thrones (but not really), realize how awesome Walder Frey is, and generally do such a poor job that Mimi quits the podcast (but not really). Our sexy lady guest host this week was Jane. Please don’t hate us.

Robert has the spear because of his hunt. You can hear the boar squeal.

Robb’s not a big character in the first book. He’s not really a big deal until Ned dies.

This is in reference to Jon being on the throne instead of Robb.

Excellent guest host. I like the comparison between Jon and Sansa.
Tyrion is not a kin slayer. It is all explained here:

I’m not going to read that for fear of spoilers, but people saw Tyrion come out of his mother’s vag. The theory is that Tywin was a cuckold?

yep, basically tyrion has lighter blond hair… it’s suspected that Tywins wife was raped by Arys and that’s why she left kings landing.

Tywin doesn’t suffer slights easily. I would think he’d side with Robert early in the war if that was the case.

That’s the first time i’ve listened to your podcast, I really enjoyed it.
I think the significant thing about Jon having Longclaw is that it increases the chance that there will be a conflict between Jon and Jorah Mormont. You can imagine Mormont turning up at the wall and finding the son of a man he hates in his fathers place as Lord Commander and also in possession of the sword that is his birthright.

I agree with the idea of the donation box, I’d donate to you guys; it’s not anywhere you can find such a shocking lack of knowledge and I feel it is my duty as a scientist to endorse that.

I can’t finish listening to this episode since every single time I reach the Catelyn/Bedslave Theory I have to keep rewinding and relistening.
Awesome.

Chase has been really quiet the last few episodes. I have to turn the volume up so high to hear him that it sounds like everyone else is sitting in the front seat of my car screaming in my face, while Chase sits in the backseat talking in low conversational tones.
Just so you know.

The person who is recording is always going to be the loudest. It’s the problem with using Pamela to record Skype. The last few recordings have been done by Amin, which is why Chase is quieter. Chase is also a pretty quiet speaker, believe it or not.
Likely it will continue to be the way. Would you rather Chase be as loud as he used to be, with everyone else being quieter?
Chase doesn’t like typing in the third person.

Great episode (sorry I’m so far behind). Amin’s groan at 41:11 is classic.
Not only does Arya not know that she was the Frey kid’s betrothed, but she gets pissed at him and tells him that she hopes his princess would die.

Why is Chase’s volume either at 11 or -1 for these podcasts???
