Needs More Hosts
As you can tell, The Podcast of Ice and Fire has been through its fair share of hosts over the past two years. There was the brief but illustrious reign of King Tommen, the unforgettable creepiness of Chris, Aaron’s party on the Quiet Isle, and the general fabulousness that was Ashley 2. Also not quite sure where Ashley 1 is, either.
This year has been a leap forward for A Song of Ice and Fire, with the greenlight on the HBO series and the pending publication of the third Dunk & Egg novella. The Podcast is ready to be more active, but we need your help. We want more hosts.
If you:
1. Have Skype and a mic,
2. Can reasonably free up a few hours once a week or every other week,
3. And mostly importantly, have a good sense of humor,
Send us an email and attach an audio clip. Tell us about yourself, about your ASOIAF fanaticism, and why you want to be a part of the crew. We would love to hear from you and have you on board (unless you are terrible).

i thought it was weekdays. i don’t think we’ve ever recorded on a friday or saturday. those are my party nights. and by party, i mean glued to my xbox and being a shut-in nights.
we do, however, do the occasional sunday when it benefits all of our respective schedules.

I heard about the open casting call for hosts and was immediately interested. I know I had a blast as a guest with you all before, I think a more permanent arrangement would be even more fun. Weekends are a great time too.
Glad you came back out of hiatus for the Dunk & Egg spectacularrr!
I’ll try to get an audio file sent out this weekend too. 🙂

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is a good, easy-to-use program for recording. There’s also the simple Sound Recorder included with Windows, start > run > soundrecorder

I got into books pretty recently, and this past week I listened to almost all of your podcasts. I never was that much into book fandoms, and podcasts existed for me only for sci-fi tv shows. So I found this site by accident and fall in love. I think my ASOIAF experience would be incomplete without listening this podcast.
For a person like me, without anyone to really talk to about the series, just listening to compelling discussion is amazing. Keep up this great work. I understand that this may be a slower time given how many topics you already talked about, but with upcoming series and maybe, finally, somehow DWD getting at least a clear publishing date you will still be active.
I wont audition being a bit technologically challenged at the moment, not speaking English that great and living in really different time zone 😉 But I wish you luck in searching for new hosts.

I might be interested. I’m just wondering, have you guys had any experiences with built-in Macbook mics? How are they? I never hard a problem with them over Ventrilo or just Skyping with friends, but then again audio quality isn’t really all that important with those. Would it be ok for podcasting do ya think?
I’ll see about recording something, though, if I can get some free time. I just discovered the show, and I really like it. It’s great fun.
I haven’t read any Dunk and Egg, though 🙁

We’ve had a lot of great submissions so far. Rest assured, we have not forgotten about you!
Those of you who have submitted your auditions/audio clips/sexual advances, feel free to suggest some possible show ideas that you would like to be a part of. I’m sure there are many topics the fans have thought of that we’ve missed.
And those of you that haven’t, feel free to do the same. It’s no secret that we’ve been out of commission for so long due to lack of discussion topics. We need your help!
