Episode 15: Discovering the Magic

Episode 15 for the week of September 21st, in which we continue our re-read project, discussing chapters 11 – 15 of A Game of Thrones (and a lot of completely unrelated things as well). We discover Catelyn’s true identity, how Robb got to be such a good swordsman, and the logistics of the Field of Fire. Our final trial guest host is Chase.

Episode 14: Racy

Episode 14 for the week of September 7th, in which we continue our re-read project, discussing chapters 6 – 10 of A Game of Thrones. Also, Mimi reminisces on her disturbing childhood artwork. Our guest host for this week is Breanna.

Episode 13: Let’s Talk About Trees

Episode 13 for the week of August 17th, in which we embark on a re-read project and discuss the first five chapters of A Game of Thrones. We’ll be covering roughly five chapters a week, working our way through the books chronologically, so feel free to re-read along and send any observations/insight you might encounter along the way to us!

Thanks to everyone who sent in audio clips to audition for the 7th host spot. We narrowed it down to three, and this week’s episode features Nancy as our guest host.

Episode 12: Flash Slash

Episode 12 for the week of July 20th, in which we answer listener questions and address listener topic ideas. Also, Chris reveals his inexperience with the world of fanfiction and says some racist things.

For those of you who want to fill our 7th host spot, make sure you send your audio entry to us via email by Sunday night!

Episode 11: Fice and Ire

Episode 11 for the week of June the 29th, in which we discuss delays, raptors, books that aren’t A Song of Ice and Fire, and our irrational fears.

Episode 10: Ménage à Stark

Episode 10 for the week of June 15th, in which we discuss the “what if…” scenarios in the series. What could have happened differently? How would have things turned out if it did? This our first episode on this topic, portraying our views and personal answers to questions submitted by our listeners.

Episode 9: Moon Seed

Episode 9 for the week of June the 1st, in which we examine a number of prophecies featured in the series. A tricky topic, but this is surely not our last discussion on the subject.

Episode 8: Girls Night Out in Westeros

Episode 8 for the week of May 18th, in which the superior (female) members of the podcast (Mimi, Ashley, and Ashley 2) discuss the female characters of ASOIAF, sex scenes, and who we would like to see play the characters on screen. This is the counterpart episode to the Guys Night Out, and yes, we also answer the question posed by Amin in the last episode but with a little twist.

Episode 7: Guys Night Out in Westeros

Episode 7 for the week of May 11th, in which the male members of the podcast crew (Chris, Aaron, Amin, and Ben) discuss brews and battles, warriors and wenches. This is the first of two special episodes- the second one will be the girls night out version. Stay tuned for the end of this episode to hear a special closing discussion that may get more than just Aaron fired for once.

Episode 6: Cover Art Critique

(Mini) episode 6 for the week of May 4th, in which we criticize/compliment A Song of Ice and Fire cover art for the foreign language editions of the books, discover that Japanese publishers really don’t like Tyrion, and Croatians love camel toe.

Follow along the discussion by viewing all the foreign language edition art at George R.R. Martin’s cover art gallery. Or just listen to us giggle nonsensically for an hour and a half.

Episode 5: The Creepy Ninja

Episode 5 for the week of April 20th, in which we discuss the religions of the series, compare ourselves to the seven deities of the faith, and talk about boobs (boob talk not included). Thanks for participating in the poll, everyone! If you’d like, please comment and share your reasoning for your favorite ASOIAF religion.

Also, we’d like to give a big thank you to Tower of the Hand for their recent post about our podcast, and welcome the new listeners who followed over from their link. Our goal to make it to 100 subscribers is becoming a possibility! On the day we do, Aaron and Chris will post pictures of themselves dressed up as the ASOIAF characters of your choice.

P.S. – And once again, I mess up and tell Aaron to say “week of April 22nd” in the intro. I’m double-fired.

Episode 4: Tard Bastards

Episode 4 for the week of April 13th. Sorry for the publishing delay! For this episode, we took a trip up north to the Wall and the Night’s Watch, cross-examining the mental capacity of the Others and learning more about Chris’ Jon Snow fanaticism. The crew for this episode is minus Amin but plus the new hosts!

P.S. – Oops! I call it the 5th episode in the outro message. Don’t pay any attention to that. I know nothing.

Episode 3 (Part 2): The Reason for Fishwives

Episode 3 (part two!) for the week of April 6th, in which we do our best to get back on track with the theme of love and lust in A Song of Ice and Fire. This week, we took some time to discuss the role of homosexuality in the series, the cultural values of marriage, and why Aaron wants a fishwife.

Episode 3 (Part 1): Tyrion the Catcher

Episode 3, part 1 for the week of March 30th. Here’s what happened. What was originally intended to be a thoughtful, intellectual discussion on the romantic relationships and cultural values toward sex and marriage in the series quickly devolved into a very long discussion about which characters we’d like to make sweet love to. At the thirty-minute mark, the podcast takes on all the insight and intellect of a high school boy’s locker room. Therefore, we have decided to split the subject into two episodes- the more relevant, latter section to be released within the week.

Don’t hate us, we love you.
